BTEC PERFORMING ARTS
Overview of subject: The Performing Arts course can be tailored to the particular specialisms of the students in the class. Broadly, these will be Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre, although teaching and assessment may not be limited to these disciplines. The course will help students to develop as performers and practitioners. Students learn about a broad variety of practitioners in the Performing Arts and select those which you identify with most and conduct more in-depth research on them.

Course outline: Unit 1: Investigating practitioners’ work Unit 2: Developing skills and techniques for a live performance Unit 3: Group performance workshop Unit 4: Performing Arts in the Community
Two other units will also be undertaken, linked to the interests of the students in each cohort.
