A Level MATHEMATICS


Overview of subject: A Level Maths is made up of three units. Pure mathematics focuses on extending and abstracting the type of maths studied at GCSE. Statistics introduces the idea of high-Level data analysis to allow students to apply their mathematical knowledge to a popular industry, while Mechanics is closely linked to Physics and is all about the mathematics of movement and forces.

Course outline: Pure Mathematics: (66.6%) – 2x 2 hour exams. Statistics and Mechanics (33.3%) – 1x 2 hour exam
