A Level FURTHER MATHS


Overview of subject: Further Maths is designed to supplement A Level Maths, providing a deeper insight into topics covered in Maths as well as covering a broader range of topics. It focuses mainly on Pure Mathematics topics (these make up three out of four units) as well as providing an introduction to Decision Mathematics.

Course outline: Core Pure Mathematics: (50%) 2x 90 minute exams Further Pure Mathematics: (25%) 1x 90 minute exam Decision Mathematics: (25%) – 1x 90 minute exam


Why choose the subject? Further Maths is a must for anybody with a passion for mathematics. It allows the time to look in more detail at the most interesting aspect of the subject and learn the skills required to carry out your own high-Level mathematical investigations. It is also highly recommended for anybody who plans to study maths or engineering at university.
