A Level PE Overview of subject:


A Level PE enables students to develop theoretical knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin physical activity and sport and use this knowledge to improve performance through an under- standing of how physiological and psychological states affect per- formance and the key socio-cultural factors that influence people’s involvement in physical activity and sport.

A Level PE develops a holistic understanding of physical education through a curriculum of stimulating and engaging content. The combination of practical and theoretical study enables students to contextual their understanding of PE and reflect on contemporary and global influences on sport. A Level PE also supports students in developing a wide range of transferable skills which will support students in their progression to Higher Education.
