CHAMBER NEWS

Brexit videos will keep you updated

The latest in a series of monthly Brexit Update videos from the Chamber is now live. Uncertainty surrounding

Brexit negotiations – and consequently how the landscape will look once the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2019 – continues to be a key concern for East Midlands- based businesses. This is highlighted by the

Chamber’s Quarterly Economic Survey in which Brexit-related issues remain a commonly- recurring theme among business owners and leaders. The Chamber, predominantly

through its Brexit Advisory Group, continues to work tirelessly on behalf of its members to ensure businesses in the East Midlands are best prepared to deal with challenges, while also being well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities in the wake of Brexit. And members can view

regular short Chamber Brexit Update videos at bit.ly/ChamberBrexitVideo to keep up to date.

PA Network’s hard work recognised with nomination

The East Midlands PA Network, which is supported by the Chamber and sponsored by Hays Recruitment, has been nominated at the prestigious Manchester PA Awards for 2018. The Manchester PA Awards seeks

to celebrate support professionals who have exceeded expectations and exemplify hard work, dedication and passion within their roles. Due to be attended by over

600 representatives from leading organisations, the awards be will take place in Manchester on 1 November. The East Midlands PA Network,

founded by the Chamber’s Executive Support Manager Lesley Dexter, will compete in the External PA Network of the Year category. The East Midlands PA Network is

a peer-to-peer membership group open to all those working in personal assistant or related roles, it harnesses relationships and the

sharing of best practice through numerous activities. It supports and connects

Personal Assistants (PAs) and Executive Assistants (EAs), through a variety of training and networking opportunities and shares best practice while developing long-lasting collaborative partnerships. Lesley said: “To be both

recognised and nominated for such a prestigious award is extremely rewarding and testament to the support we offer PAs and EAs, who perform such crucial roles in businesses. It also shows the power of collaboration and the sharing of best practice – something we’re very passionate about. “We’re hugely looking

forward to the awards and the opportunity to network with so many like-minded and talented people.”
