GEM purchases vending firm


GEM Vending, based in Nottingham, has acquired renowned vending operator Allen Vending. GEM, which celebrated its


50th anniversary this year, has welcomed Allen Vending on board in a move that makes the company the largest privately-owned vending operator in the East Midlands. Steve Gallagher, Chairman at


GEM Vending Group, said: “Bob Allen and Alan Ball have been our friends in the industry for many years, having a strong reputation for an honest and loyal approach to both their staff and customers. “The joining of our two

Pick Everard wins four-year NHS framework contract


A leading Leicester-based property, construction and infrastructure consultancy, Pick Everard, has secured a four-year appointment to deliver a range of services to the healthcare and wider public sector through the NHS SBS Consult 18 framework. The NHS Shared Business


Services framework – a vehicle which provides business support services to the NHS and public sector across the country – will see Pick Everard building on its expertise in the management consultancy market, providing advisory and consultancy services. The Consult 18 framework –


valued at between £20m and £50m – has been divided into ten lots that cover a range of consultancy services to support healthcare and public sector organisations, from GP practices to major public authorities. Pick Everard will be delivering a


number of services for three different lots, with services including: strategy development, management support, capital asset delivery, complex projects and change management. Dr Nicola Thompson, National

Acquisition will expand Haines Watts offering


Chartered accountants and business advisers Haines Watts Leicester has acquired the practice of Kagdadia & Co. Ashwin Kagdadia, a former


Loughborough University graduate, trained with Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte) ahead of spending five years with another firm before setting up his own accountancy practice in 1991. He had been looking for the


right opportunity to join forces with a larger practice to allow his clients to benefit from a greater range of services and expertise, and identified Haines Watts as a good fit for his clients, which are predominantly SME businesses. Ashwin and his team have


transferred to Haines Watts Leicester at Hamilton as part of the merger, to ensure clients continue to receive the personal service, yet at the same time have access to the additional services provided by Haines Watts, such as integration onto cloud accounting, finance, business structuring, research and

development tax credits and support with international trading. Sanjay Khullar, Senior Partner at
