Airline flies home with Travel Bulletin Star Award
flybmi has been named as The Star Regional Airline of the Year in the prestigious Travel Bulletin Star Awards for 2018. Voted for by travel agents,
the award is in recognition of the airline’s premium quality, service and support of its travel agency partners. Chief Commercial Officer
Jochen Schnadt said: “We’re delighted that agents appreciate our commitment to offering routes from the regions, leading them to nominate us for such an award. By naming us Star Regional Airline of the Year, it’s clear that agents enjoy the flexibility and convenience offered by flybmi. Regional airports offer a much easier departure point for British travellers as many are easier to reach, quieter, offer cheaper parking than the bigger airports and yet still enjoy excellent public transport links and services such as shopping, private lounge access and fast tracked security.”
New website and branding for Archbond
Lamination services specialist Archbond has launched a new brand identity to better reflect its status as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of laminated materials. Based in Leicestershire,
Archbond has been providing lamination services for over 30 years across a range of industries, including sports, commercial, healthcare and automotive. As a specialist in polyethylene (PE) foam, Archbond is a leading manufacturer of material for thermal swimming pool covers for both domestic and commercial use. The company’s new management team decided it needed a strong brand to more clearly communicate its business offering. Following a strategic review, they decided on a simplified approach emphasising Archbond’s USPs, which culminated in a new logo, website, samples and exhibition graphics.
Managing Director Steven
King said: “Archbond is a leading provider of lamination services across multiple sectors. However, our research identified that potential customers were not always aware of our complete range of services. “By working with our design

MVIS and Bartco UK’s Anne Ashman and Cain Gregory with Highfields’ winners of the 2018 MVIS Challenge
All the signs point to success for MVIS’ school partnership
Students at Highfields School in Matlock, Derbyshire, have been honoured by two local firms in a special assembly celebrating their participation in a careers initiative designed to help prepare them for the world of work. Anne Ashman, General Manager of Tansley-based
intelligent transport firms Mobile Visual Information Systems (MVIS) and Bartco UK, accompanied by technical apprentice and former Highfields student Cain Gregory, visited the school to announce the winners of the 2018 MVIS Challenge. Now in its second year, the MVIS Challenge is an annual event where Highfields students are invited to
consider the various roles that MVIS’ variable message signs (VMS), manufactured by sister company Bartco UK, can perform. Initially a year eight initiative, this year the MVIS Challenge was extended to include year nine pupils, who were asked to look at ways in which VMS could help to reduce airport congestion. Anne said: “Once again, the standard of the students’
entries was exceptionally high and we were delighted to announce the winners in this special assembly. MVIS and Bartco UK are committed to supporting local youngsters as they prepare for employment, and this exercise demonstrated that some of them are already well on their way.”
