Gaelic Football Town & Parish Leagues Yep it’s that time of year
again. The national hurling Championship has drawn to a close and what an amazing season we’ve been treated to. Our own Bill Cooper very nearly made it to the final with Cork losing in extra time to eventual champions Limerick. An- other few weeks left for the football final after which the Club game will again take precedence. Mean- while here at Eochaill Óg we
prepare ourselves for
the annual Gaelic Football Town and Parish Leagues. The Town Leagues feature the Under 7’s and Under 8’s jumbled together into teams and a league, while the Parish Leagues features the Under 9’s, 10’s and 11’s. It kicks off Monday 20th
August at 7pm for the
next three Mondays culmi- nating with the finals night on Friday 7th

Under 10’s Football Tournament in Dungarvan On Saturday 18th
and August
the Eochaill Óg Under 10s headed to Dungarvan for a 16 team tournament with teams from Waterford, Tip- perary and Cork attend- ing. Youghal were the only Club to field 2 teams with 26 players in attendance. With all teams guaranteed at least 3 games, Youghal Gold played Stradbally, hosts Dungarvan and An Ghaeltacht, beating An Ghaeltacht and losing nar- rowly to both Stradabally and Dungarvan. Youghal Maroon were drawn in a group of Clonmel Com-
Lismore winning 2 games and losing to a last minute goal to Clonmel. With 2 teams progressing to the semi finals, the Maroon team faced a Naomh Bríd team in the semi-final and then progressed to play The Nire in the final. With superb football on view both Youghal teams played their hearts out throughout the
day. Encouraged on
by an enthusiastic parents and family members the Maroon team overcame a strong Nire team to win the final on a score of 2-2 to 0-1. Well done to all players on the day who got their just reward after many hours of training over the past few months. Captain Josh accepted the cup on behalf of the Youghal boys to jubilant scenes. LGFA Under 10’s Ladies Football Munster Blitz on Saturday August 18th On August 18th

Under 10’s Ladies Gaelic football girls competed in a Monster Blitz in Nemo
teams with 9 so it meant no subs. The girls were tired as the sun had gone out and the earlier games took their toll !! Thanks to all the great
