ROADS ACT, 1993 TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Cork County Council is considering under Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, the closing to public traffi c of the following roads for the dates and for the times stated:-

King & Queen of the Roads - Road Bowling Festival – R626 Ballinaclasha, Midleton


from Friday, 28th September 2018 to Sunday, 30th September 2018 (10:00hrs to 19:00hrs - Daily Closure)


Road to be Closed: The R626 from its junction with the L-7604 at Ballincurrig to its junction with the L-96262-0 at Rathcobane.


Road Numbers: R626 (Part).


Alternative Route: Rathcormack to Midleton via the R639. At Rathcormack Bridge turn left onto R626. At Ballinterry turn left onto R628. At Leary’s Cross turn right onto L-1526-0. At Kilcor North continue straight ahead to join L-1526-9. At Curraghdermot Cross Roads continue straight ahead to join L-3600-0. At Two Pot Cross Roads turn right onto L-3601-0. Continue straight through Peafi eld Cross Roads to join L-3601-29. Continue straight ahead to join L-3601-53. At Oldcourt East continue straight onto L-3601-85. Continue south along L-3601-85 to re-join R626 at Carrigogna. Turn left onto R626 and continue south east to Midleton.


This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse when travelling from Midleton to Rathcormack.


NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that this proposed closure is to facilitate King & Queen of the Roads – Road Bowling Festival.


Any person interested may lodge an objection in writing to the closing of these roads, with the undersigned not later than Tuesday, 28th August 2018.

Roads to be Closed: Main St. Midleton. R907 Main Street from its junction with the L9403-1 Hospital Road Junction with the L3621-0 Broderick Street. The R627 Connolly Street from its junction with the R907 Main Street to its junction with Dickinson’s Lane.


Road Numbers: R907 (part of), R627 (part of).


Alternative Routes: Traffi c travelling south along R626 take the L3288-0 and L3822-1 Northern Relief Road and onto N25.


Traffi c travelling north along R630 take the N25 and onto the L3288-0 and L3822-1 Northern Relief Road.


Traffi c Travelling north through Midleton Town diverted at R907 Main Street onto L3621-0 Broderick Street, onto L3631-0 Riverside Way and onto R907/R626 Cork Road/Mill Road.


Traffi c travelling south through Midleton Town diverted at R626 Mill Road onto L3631-0 Riverside Way, L3621-0 Broderick Street and onto R907 Youghal Road.


Traffi c travelling south along R627 from Dungourney takes the L7630-0 at Broomfi eld East. At Broomfi eld West take R626 to travel north or L3822-1 and L3288-0 Northern Relief Road to join the N25.


Traffi c travelling south through Midleton Town from Dungourney diverted onto Drury’s Ave. onto the L9403-1 The Green and onto the R907. Continue on the R907 to join the N25 or take the L3631-0 Riverside Way to travel south west.
