Lower Aghada Tennis Club

Annual General Meeting 2018 Our Annual Gener-

al Meeting took place at Upper Aghada hall last Wednesday night, there was a huge turnout of members the

likes not

seen in recent times. Minutes of 2017 AGM

were read by Hon, Secre- tary Yvonne Kennedy First up was our Presi-

dent Billy Flynn with his address, a few of the main items he touched on was possible ways of bringing in additional new mem- bers and his worry at the fall off and lack of court use.

Billy’s address was

followed by an upbeat Chairman’s address from Brendan Kirrane who said it was a difficult year for the club with the loss of our newly renovated club house only weeks

into the year but imme- diately he was high in his praise for all the members who rallied around and thanked them for their help and encouragement through out the year, es- pecially the

committee

who he said did trojan work, he didn’t forget the various sub committees. He continued to give a

comprehensive report on all the clubs activities and achievements over the past twelve months. Brendan thanked out- going committee mem- bers Mary Collier, Mary Barnes and Kannan for their important contribu- tions over the last

three

years. He thanked Yvonne Kennedy who is stepping down from the club secre- taries position, she is how- ever taking up a position in the incoming commit- tee. The new incoming

secretary is Rona Collins and she was welcomed on board by Brendan. He

comers Desiree Rose

Jaworska, Dolores

O’Riordan and Eamon Butler on to the commit- tee.
