finally blessed with the weather we hosted Sars in a challenge match, our Midleton Black U12 Camogie team put on a great

tlemartyr last Wednesday night in Ballinacurra, on what finally was a beau- tiful evening for camo- gie. Ballinacurra was in excellent

condition,

considering the terrible weather we’ve had the last number of months, a credit to all involved. This was our first U16B league game this year for our very young Midle- ton side. With numbers down on the Castlemar- tyr side, the game was 14 a side. We started this game very strongly with our backs particularly Yvonne Abernethy, Cao- imhe Cronin and Jodie Keegan O’Connell clear- ing a lot of ball which was the platform for our forwards to get

some performance

against a very good Sars team, there were great skills on display from both sides and we would like to thank Sars for making the trip to us and we look forward to playing them again during the season.

great scores to give us a lead in this game we nev- er relinquished. There were some great scores from Chloe Garde, Abbie Foley, Leah Hogan, Clara Mc Carthy and Vivienne Gleeson but overall it was a fantastic panel

effort from all the 20 girls who

were there and played. Castlemartyr driven on by Amy Morgan rallied at

the end coming to

within four points of us. The final score was 5-

06 to 4- 05. We head to Cloughduv this Thurs- day evening for our next game. Well done girls. Well done to Chloe

Garde playing with the U14 Cork squad in Lim- erick at the weekend. Congrats to Lucy Wal-

lace and all the players on the Cork A Minor panel and to Jerry Wal- lace, Micky Bok and the rest of the management team on Corks win v Gal- way at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh last

Juvenile Fe 8 We made the short trip

to Lisgoold on Saturday morning to take part in a regional football blitz. The

conditions under-

foot were very heavy and thus made it difficult for open and free flowing football. Our three teams all showed great appetite for hard work and fight- ing hard for the ball. Af- ter the three games that each of our teams played we had a very tired but happy bunch of players. We look forward to the longer evenings and more opportunities to train and play competitive games.

Fe 9 Due to the late una-

vailability of our field in Midleton we travelled to Bishopstown on Satur- day morning last for our third football game of the Go Games Leagues. On the day we had a pan- el of 27 strong, fielding three

teams, with each

team showing massive Continued on next page
