inated their half back area. Midway through the first half Mickey Finn hit a purple patch, four cracking points from the stick of the U14 each one better than the next. A pointed free from Alex Quirke and one point a piece from Darragh Mc- Carthy and Dave Cremin gave us a well-deserved lead at half time. Half Time Score: Midleton
0-10 v Glen Rovers 1-03. The second half started
with Alex Quirke slotting over a sixty-five. Short- ly afterwards Alex stood up to take an innocuous twenty-one metre free, that was not in front of the goals, and character- istically struck the ball to the back of the Glen net. This score gave us some breathing space for the remainder off the game.
Our final scores of the evening came from Dar- ragh McCarthy (2) and Dave Cremin. This was a great win against a skillful and tough Glen Rovers team. We now progress to the final against Douglas. Final Score: Midleton

FIDDLESTICKS ! Weather again!! Fid- dlesticks is the mildest of words that come to mind when describing our feel- ings of frustration about this weather. Fools we
were for fancying that a feast of fine weather last weekend could signal the end of winter and begin- ning of summer. No such luck – pitches closed again on Tuesday last after an- other deluge, and further difficulty for fixture fix- ers! Nonetheless, we plod along, faithfully and fear- lessly!
LOTTO NEWS – FANCY FOUR GRAND? Our 17th
draw of 2018 was held on Tuesday last, April 24th
weekly Lotto .
The €4000 jackpot was not won this week. Numbers drawn were 1, 8, 20 and 29. Cathal Deane, Kevin Conlon and May Galvin won €30 each, while Nora M. O’Reilly won a €30
voucher for Killeagh Phar- macy. Next week we will have a jackpot of €4200 –who wouldn’t’ want that?
SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Douglas 3-19, Killeagh 1-9 No repeat of last sum-
mer’s highlight (when we deservedly beat Douglas in Cobh) in the re-match in Pairc Uí Rinn on Friday evening last. Douglas im- pressed in every line of the pitch, with current Cork
seniors Eoin Cadogan and Shane Kingston dominant at either end, former in- ter-county seniors Cian McCarthy (Cork) and Shane Bourke (Tipperary) very dangerous scoring threats up front, another (Stephen Moylan) pulling the strings in midfield, and possible future Cork play- ers Luke McGrath and Nathan Walsh impressing in defence. Brendan Del- aney’s flicked goal on sev- en minutes, after brilliant work from Matthew Mur-

phy, was the highlight of the first half for Killeagh, but two Douglas goals, from Cian McCarthy on 13 minutes and Mark O’Con- nor on 28 minutes meant it was double scores at half- time (2-8 to 1-4). Kieran Lane’s superb sideline cut was our final point of this half, but sixteen scoreless minutes after Brendan’s goal (Douglas scored 1-4 in this period) was an om- inous warning sign. The second half didn’t see any improvement as Shane Kingston’s excellent catch, solo run and brilliant fin- ish to the net after just two minutes effectively ended the tie. Our sum total in this half was five points, two from frees by Eoghan Keniry whose perfor- mance was hampered by injury, one from Daniel Walsh and two from Bri- an Collins, both of whom worked tirelessly in mid- field throughout. Doug- las, on this form, and with Alan Cadogan and possi- bly Brian Turnbull to re- turn from injury, will be a serious threat to any team in this competition, while we must regroup and get ready to face the mighty St. Finbarr’s in Round 2, another tall order!

develop their skills on and off the pitch – Brinsley McDonnell Our Under 10 squad
had a day out in Kinsale on Saturday last. They started with two 10-a-side football matches in Kin- sale, winning both, and fol- lowed this with lunch and a round of footgolf, fol- lowed by more food! It was a great day for all players and parents, with beauti- ful sunshine adding to our enjoyment. This footgolf is mighty fun!
