Under 12s touring the Imokilly barony - Conor Murphy Our U12’s have had a
busy week, with a back- log of fixtures to catch up due to the weather-related postponements earlier
in
the season. We played Car- rigtwohill last Saturday 21st of April in Carrigtwohill. We came up against a very good team and lost the game 4-2 to 4-10. We played Aghada in Aghada on Tuesday 24th

Under 13s in Lismore – Seamus Considine The U13s travelled
to Lismore on Saturday evening to play a hurling game. With only 14 play- ers avaiiable to travel we were always going to be up under pressure against a strong Lismore side. We were beaten well, but for the first outing of the year the boys showed positive signs in some areas, nota- bly the never give up at- titude, pride in the jersey and playing for each other. All the boys played very welland tried hard. Sean O’Riordan was one who stood out for our team but every one of the boys played their part. Thanks to the parents who travelle- dand to the boys WELL DONE. Panel:
Conor Burns, , where
we came out on the right side of a very tough battle with the score 6-8 to 4-11 in favour of Killeagh-Ita’s. We played Cobh on Friday 27th
by 11-5 to 3-5. Panel:

CAUGHT ON THE LINE
Rebel Óg U15 Hurling Challenge Cup Semi-Final Carrigtwohill 1-17, Killeagh-Ita’s 2-13 In March 2013 I name-
checked a brilliant young Aghada footballer in a report of an U12 football match. Five years hence, and Diarmuid Phelan is captain and centre-back of Cork minor football- ers. Here’s another name- check – young Justin Oke of Carrigtwohill. This game
gave supporters
huge entertainment, with Justin’s freetaking, agility and skill a joy to behold, particularly in the first half. The
game-changer might have been! Well
done to the team who gave their
all. Stand out per-
formers on the night were the usual suspects Jamie Fogarty, George Walsh and Paudie Mackey (highlight- ed by an excellent goal on 20 minutes with a brilliant assist from Eoin Brenner). Most impressive of all was David Buckley, who was outstanding at left-half for- ward in that second-half comeback, scoring 1-1 (the point on 50 minutes was a brilliant equalising score) and winning several frees, all of which Paudie con- verted. One that got away! Team: Ben Budds, Ben
Fogarty, Rory Lynch, Cor- mac Fitzpatrick, Jack Flan- agan, Jamie Fogarty, David Buckley, George Walsh, Aaron Fitzgibbon, Colm Treacy, Paudie
Mackey, here
was his injury time goal from a free which broke the hearts of our gallant Under 15 boys, just two minutes after he had saved a penalty at the other end of the pitch. Our team had battled back from an eight- point half-time deficit (Carrig had the benefit of the wind and led by 0-15 to 1-4) to lead by two points with time up. But the fat lady hadn’t yet sung, and more importantly, the ref- eree Willie Wallace hadn’t blown his final whistle. Such are the cruelties of sport – Carrigtwohill pro- gress to the Challenge Cup Final against Kiltha Óg, while we think of what
Evan Lane, Colm Landers, Eoin Brenner, Callum Martin White.
