Junior A Football League Result On last
Thursday
evening, Castlemartyr travelled to Glanmire for the
rescheduled Division
3 football league game. In a ground where we hav- en’t won for many years, our task looked even more daunting when we were
without 8 players. How- ever, our first 15 looked strong and also had the option of bringing on 3 subs,
us the game. During a scrappy open-
ing, both sides spurned numerous chances before Glanmire
scored an all
important goal to give them a sizeable lead. In a

disappointing half, we saw ourselves 6 points down as we trailed 1-06 to 3 points at halftime. Although both sides had an equal amount of chances, Glanmire took theirs whereas we were wasteful with too many wides.

over Bishopstown in Pairc Ui Rinn last Sunday in the first round of the Championship (game doubled up for League points and featured live on TG4), having led at the break by the minimum 0-09 to 0-08, we managed to have the better of the second half and ran out winners by 0-19 to 0-12. Junior Hurling A great effort was put in by all our players last Thursday night in the Junior 2 League game in Caherlag against Er- ins Own. Unfortunately we were up against a very strong home outfit.
