Ballinrostig Vintage Club to Hand Over Almost €7,000 to Charity at Annual Dinner Dance

Ballinrostig Vintage Club will hold its annual Dinner Dance on Satur- day, 11 November with the club set to donate the funds raised this year to three charities and local causes. Garryvoe
Hotel will
host the Dinner Dance from 8pm, with this final event of 2017 serving as the main celebration of the club’s ten-year anni- versary. “It’s on next Saturday
night in Garryvoe,” said Jim Wall, Chairman of the Ballinrostig Vintage Club. “Meal is on at 8pm which will be followed by the band, the West End Boys, with a disco afterwards. The

from any members of the club. It is a celebration of our 10th
anniversary,
which is an important milestone in the club’s history.”
As was the case in
previous years, the end- of-year Dinner Dance is the club’s opportunity to hand over the pro- ceeds raised in the last 12 months to its chosen charities and local causes. “On the night we will the

Lisgoold/Leamlara Annual Toy Mass Set For This Month

Lisgoold and Leamlara will once again hold its an- nual Toy Mass this month, on Sunday, 26 November. The Toy Mass involves
donations of new toys made by the children and parents of the Lisgoold/Leamlara community which will find their way into the hands of less fortunate
children in
Cork – specifically children who have suffered domestic violence and/or have be- come homeless. “This has been running
for about 20 years approx- imately,” said Deirdre Mc- Carthy. “Kids from the area bring toys to mass, which are then donated to less fortunate kids. There is a social worker who lives in the parish and she will col- lect the toys and bring them to her office. She said the joy of the people who come into the office is amazing. always getting bigger. It also helps the kids in the parish realise that Christmas is not just about receiving but giv- ing. They will be told that at mass too. If people can’t make the mass, we would be delighted if they were still able to drop in toys. There is a lot of places in the parish that will accept toys.”
