Under-10’s Cheer on Cork City to League Title
Cork City v Derry City at Turners Cross Carrigtwohill United Un-
der-10’s management team and squad finally made their way to Turners Cross stadium to cheer on Cork City requiring just a point to secure their 1st
since 2005. This fixture had been
rescheduled twice so the anticipation and excitement was tangible on the bus journey to the ground.
the staff at the ground seat- ed our group, gave the lads flags and practiced songs and chants in the build up to kick off. The atmosphere in the
ground was electric and the home support duly car- ried city over the line to the point they needed to clinch the title.
All had a wonderful premier title
evening and the memories made will stay with the lads for years to come. Congratulations to Cork
city - League Champions 2017. The
squad would to take like this opportunity
to thank all involved with CUFC for making this out- ing possible and a special thanks to Marie, Eanna, Pat and all the staff at Cork City for helping to coordinate and making our outing such a great experience for all.
Date : 29th Ocotober Under-12 V Kanturk
Carrigtwohill : 1 Kanturk : 3 This was a very disap- pointing result when too many players just did not show their best
form. A
well organised Kanturk side scored a soft goal opening
goal to take the lead. Un- fortunately some of the Carrigtwohill lads lost some confidence and dropped their heads a little and they conceded a second goal just before the half time to leave the half time score 0-2. A better start to the 2nd
half saw Carrigtwohill on top but then some sloppy play left Kanturk in for a third goal. However, better things were to come and a great move the length of the pitch involving 4 players re- sulted in Charlie Mc Carthy crossing to the far post for Cian Lee to smash the ball to the net. Unfortunately this was the high point of a very disappointing over- all performance. The team have to show better commit- ment if they are going to get to into winning ways. A spe-

Under-10 at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill V Churchvilla The
on
the latest game in the u10 league
Under-10’s had Sunday
take its toll on the players getting up and down the pitch, but the lads really gave everything and there were some very tired players at the end of the game. There were some fantas-
after-
noon. The visitors to Bal- lyadam
this week were
Churchvilla who made the short journey from Cloyne. They played four 7v7
games and the competition between both sides was very evident.
Both sides gave
their all in a very fair con- test. The effort the lads put in was fantastic. With the larger pitch this year it can
tic individual performanc- es today, but what is really pleasing is players are be- ginning to understand the different roles and respon- sibilities of each position. The boys as always tried to play their football and some lads got their first goals for the team today. Hopefully the first of many! Some of the defensive displays today were really fantastic. As always we can’t fault
the energy, enthusiasm and commitment
lads involved. Well done. Date : 29th

CUFC Premier at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill : 3 Innishvilla : 1 As the first league game
of the season, Carrigtwohill had to lay down a marker for the rest of the season. The match started with
both teams trying to hold onto possession and it was Carrigtwohill who had the first real chance of the game. After some good work down the left between Paul Feehan and Robin Ward, Robin got a cross in to Brendan Cronin who just put the ball narrowly wide! Both teams were
now
finding their feet with in- ishvilla holding onto the ball well and creating a few chances of their own. After 15minutes they were ahead. Continued on next page
