U21s GETTING BETTER STEP BY STEP U21 Premier Hurling
Championship Killeagh-Ita’s 2-11, Duhallow 1-11 Killeagh-Ita’s Under
21 team have qualified for the semi-final of this year’s Premier Hurling Championship as a result of two hard fought wins in six days. On Bank Hol-
iday Monday on a perfect day for winter hurling we overcame Duhallow in a close-fought game in Fer- moy where the standard of hurling could only be described as fair. A great start saw us lead by 1-5 to 0-1 after 13 minutes, with Eoghan Keniry’s goal on eight minutes vital in keeping us ahead of our opponents. Unfortunately, our performance dipped from here on, with Du- hallow attacking well from half-back and midfield, outscoring us by 1-4 to
0-4 for the remainder of the half. The second half saw a further dip in our performance with lots of poor shooting and good saves from the Duhallow ‘keeper, and with just two minutes to go we had only added two points to our half time score whereas Duhallow had added five. At 1-11 to 1-10 it was far too close for comfort, and only for excellent defend- ing by Darragh O’Brien, Brendan Delaney and Jack O’Rourke we might Continued on next page
