We start this week
with Mark O’Riordan taking the checkered flag in the league race last Thursday night with Richard Keating coming a close 2nd
and
Brian Landers taking 3rd on the night. After all this the yellow jersey has changed hands and now Richard Keating has the glory of wearing it the next night out and he
hopes to be able to hold onto it for the next few weeks and claim to top prize. But this will mean he will be a marked man next week and will find it hard to get away and pick up some more val- uable points, so why not get out to the Gortroe circuit next thursday night and cheer on the groups going flat out on the local roads?

Also on Sunday Tom
Hickey and Ronan Cole- man pinned there num- bers and colours and headed to Coachford for there annual race. This is a tough circuit and it had an up hill finish, the lads tried hard to get the group working in the early stages with some attacks off the front of the race but had to settle in and wait for the up hill finishing straight where Tom attacked in the last kilometer and try as he might a few came past him but he still hung on
for 6th
place and picked
up some prize money and more points to help him getting upgraded to A3, and with Ronan getting some great expe- rience over the last few weeks and finishing in the bunch sprint cross- ing the line just outside the prize money but it wont be long before the cycling will start paying for the next bike. And back to the easy-
going members of the club taking off Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 o’clock from Lidl with
a group getting in 70 km on Saturday morning around east Cork and Sunday Morning the 1st group away at 8 o’clock heading up the Vee and onto Cahir so this meant they had to come back up the Vee for a 2nd
so this meant they cov- ered 120km. With the next groups leaving at 9 and heading to east Cork and the newest members of the club headed to Midleton and a welcome cup of coffee before taking the journey back to Youghal
time
and 60km in the legs the biggest group of the day headed to Carrigtwohill taking in some of the back roads and follow- ing Scoby who was the leader on the road and giving advice and lead- ership to all the rest of the group and making sure they stayed going to cover 80km as they are in training for there an- nual trip in 7 weeks time to Glengarriff and tak- ing in some serious hills down there. And finally this is something for the
younger cyclist for the local area,Youghal CC will be hosting a 12 week Sprocket Rocket youths (6-12 year olds) train- ing course from 7pm on Monday May 29th
