CORK COUNTY COUNCIL COMHAIRLE CONTAE CHORCAÍ
PLANNING
CORK COUNTY LIBRARY AND ARTS SERVICE, COUNTY LIBRARY BUILDING, CARRIGROHANE ROAD, CORK MUNICIPAL OPERATIONS AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
NOTICE UNDER SECTION 179 OF THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACTS, 2000-2011
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of Section 179 of the Planning and Development Acts, 2000-2011 and in accordance with the requirements of Article 81 and Article 83 of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001-2012, that Cork County Council proposes to undertake the following development to No. 58-60, North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork.
Planning Permission under ‘Part Eight’ of the Planning and Development Regulations, 2001 (as amended) is required. In accordance with S.I. 476, 2011, Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment) (No.3) Regulations, 2011, the Council has carried out a screening and has determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.
Scope of Works
The works entail the reconstruction, extension and fit out of the existing 3-storey, two-bay building located at No 58-60 North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork. As the site is located in an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA), the existing building line will be respected, and portions of the building fabric dating back to the 17th century retained. A new library would be constructed around this historic fabric, incorporating all the requirements of a modern library as set out in Public Library Standards and Benchmarks. Change of use from a retail/commercial unit with accommodation above to a library building is also being sought. An Archaeological Assessment Survey has been carried out in accordance with a building within an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA).
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection and/or purchase at the Public Library, The Rivergate Mall, North Main Street, Youghal, Co. Cork and the foyer of the Architects Deptartment, Floor 9, Cork County Council, County Hall, Cork, from 9am to 5pm on each day during which the said offices are open for the transaction of business (excluding Bank Holidays) for a period beginning on Friday, 26th May 2017 – Friday, 7th July 2017.
Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development will be situated, may be made in writing to, Sean McLoughlin, Acting County Architect, Floor 9, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork or Eileen O’Brien, Acting County Librarian, Library Building,
info@eastcorkjournal.ie Youghal Councillor’s Daughter Weds by DENISE FITZGERALD It was Silver and Gold
for the wedding of Gem- ma Foley to well known local Youghal man, Tim- my Ryan on Friday last. The East Cork Journal called to the Foley home before the Wedding Cer- emony and met with the Bridal Party. Bride, Jemma, was beau-
tiful in a magnificent gown, with her four Bridesmaids
in dresses of Silver. The Flower Girl was gorgeous in a Ballerina length white dress and Mother of the Bride, Councillor Mary Linehan Foley, wore
a
Gold outfit with matching hat. They were delighted to stand for a pre-wedding picture, accompanied by proud husband John and son Kane. The Ryan family are
a very popular and well known Youghal family, and there was much excitement
in the area for this local Wedding which was held in The Strand Church. Afterwards, the
large
crowd of family members, friends, neighbours and guests gathered together in The Walter Raleigh Ho- tel where the celebrations went on well into the early hours.
Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Timmy Ryan. May you have a long, hap- py and healthy life togeth- er.
