U8’S NEWS Our U8s took to the field

for the first time this year when we travelled to Fer- moy this evening. 28 girls togged out and were eager to get stuck in and that’s what they did with plenty of effort, enthusiasm and no shortage of skill. We had two matches one

for the U8s and one forU7 and6s and both teams played brilliantly ... Dave Barry

U14s NEWS Report by Sheila Denne-

hy Scanlon Hi all, our u14’s were out

Vs Glanmire in league final in carrigtohilll. Weather was dry but windy. Game was delayed 20 mins as ref was late getting to pitch. Game kicked of and both sides playing great football. Glanmire had very tall girls right across there 15 and put huge pressure on all po- sitions for us.We got some great scores and were un- lucky to score more. Bring- ing the half time score to glanmire 1-10 to Inchrovers

1-4. We knew we were still in the game and all still to play for. Unfortunately we had a few girls injured and had to make changes in positions to try to strengthen the team to keep our defence strong. Second half we started

off ok and tried a few times to get scores but glanmire just pulled away and there forwards drove through our defence and buried a few great goals even do our goal keeper tried very hard to do all to keep the ball out. But unfortunately glanmire kept coming back on us and won the final comfortably. On behalf of manage-

ment, we thought 3 wks ago we were out of the running of the league and 3 wks on we got to A final and A County still to play for.Look it’s wasn’t our night and to be fair the best team won. Best of luck to glanmire in the county and the rest of the season.Rem girls as I told ye and will keep tell- ing ye, ye are an outstand- ing bunch of girls and look at tonight as a set back but still plenty to play for in the county which is fixed for the wkend of the 28th

of May. And still have champion-

ship ahead. Kind rdgs from Sheila, Aine, Derry and Johnny.

again in the east cork minor non league against Car- rigtwohill. It was 13 a side and we

lined out with a very strong lineup with plenty seniors sprinkled throughout the team. We started out with loads of possession and after a settling in phase we kicked

some great points From rose Shannon kelly

Amy and Niamh. However Carrig broke for a goal of their own and threatened to score a few more only for some fine defending from Donna cait Marcia Emma and Aoibhe. We were well ahead at halftime 1.12 to 1.01 and changed our team around with the purpose of giving girls plenty foot- ball. Again our u16 showed some lovely touches we put the game to bed early in the second half with fine scores from Ciara Barry Shan- non rose Emma Megan murphy meg Ahern aoife the ever improving Katie Ahern. Sinead O’Brien and Sarah put in great second half with a masterclass in blocking. Ciara Steele put in some fine passes and seems to bring out the best in big sister Kelly.
