Weymouth
Weymouth is a holiday playground day for trippers and destination holidays. Tings to do, see and visit are either in the town, or within a relatively short distance. In fact, the beach is so good it is worth visiting for that alone. Troughout the year the beach hosts many events including: the Beach Kite Festival, Fireworks, Tag Rugby, Handball, Volleyball and Motocross.
Weymouth has an activity packed programme of events, a world class bay and harbour, water-sports, fishing, three great beaches with safe sands. For those who want a trip or to play on the water there are umpteen firms offering craft and equipment to hire or purchase, skippered boats, plus boat trips and ferries. For a DAY OUT, try the Sea Life Adventure Park & Tower or SANDWORLD SCULPTURE PARK, both at Lodmoor Park. Should you fancy a trip to the Channel Islands, there is the Condor Ferry to Guernsey and Jersey.
Te town centre has all the leading high street brands, and a host of interesting smaller shops to browse. In wet weather for things to do and shop, visit Brewers Quay or the sea front amusements. In the town there is an eclectic array of pubs, several night clubs and live entertainment at Weymouth Pavilion. Surrounding the harbour there are hostelries, shops, and many places to eat from traditional fish and chips to

fine dining. Family owned and operated BENNETS fish and chip restaurant has won many accolades.
Weymouth is a Mecca for all types of fishing. Te stone pier is ideal for beginners and expert fisherman alike, to catch a variety of species. Kids can have fun using crab lines over the side, and in the summer the Mackerel come in close to the pier and beach for anyone to catch who can cast out some feathers.
Here are some more things to try: Mfa Bowl, in Saint Nicholas Street, is a multi complex entertainment centre; Jurassic Safari - enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife on a Land Rover safari;Weymouth Bay Rib Charters will organise any type of event on the water; Sirius Charters offer full day charter trips, swim off the boat, go ashore in a dingy - see the wonderful Jurassic Coast. Weymouth White Water is a trip for a minimum of 90 minutes, or more, at high speed. Dorset Yacht Charters offer a personalised sailing experience, from day cruises sightseeing,fun days and charters. Old Harbour Dive Centre offer scuba diving courses and there is a shop for the gear. Jurassic Trails Cycle Hire have various bikes for the family. STUART WILTSHIRE GLASS can capture your family memories in a crystal glass cast. Greenhill Gardens has a Treasure Trail Quiz for the kids and it is free. Granby Fun Factory is great fun for the kids.
Looking seaward from Weymouth’s Old Harbour on the port side is Nothe Peninsula, with pubs, restaurants and attractions. Most with names commencing ‘Nothe’. It is a fascinating place to visit and home to NOTHE FORT, originally built by the Victorians to protect Portland harbour; it is now a tourist attraction and educational facility.
NOTHE FORT is an Award winning visitor attraction offering low cost entry, and great value come rain or shine. Built by the Victorians to protect Portland Harbour, Nothe Fort is one of the best preserved forts of its kind. Te advances in technology that affected the fort are explained through many displays, exhibits and audio visual facilities located on the ramparts, gun decks and maze of underground passageways. Enjoy the stunning and far reaching views of the Jurassic Coast from the picnic areas on the Ramparts. Tese will provide one of the best vantage points on the south coast.
SANDWORLD SCULPTURE PARK is Weymouth’s first sand sculpture festival and will be open daily for the season from 10:30, featuring their “Best of British” theme. Expect iconic sculptures, including Te Beatles, Winston Churchill, One Direction, and lots more created by some of the most imaginative and creatively talented sculptors in the world who will be visiting SANDWORLD.
Weymouth Harbour
BENNETS is family owned and a truly unique fish & chips restaurant where the fish used is rod caught daily and filleted on site. Te chips are made fresh each morning using the best potatoes. Delivery to your home or place where you are staying is available with 4 miles of the shop on orders of £15 or £2 per mile for a less amount.
STUART WILTSHIRE is a highly respected glassmaker and glass designer creating bespoke traditional and contemporary vessels, pendant lighting, chandeliers and distinctive designer features. Stuart Wiltshire Glass also produces unique new-born baby, children and couples hand and footprint glass casting keepsakes, which can be engraved with a personal message and are ready for collection or posted from the following working day. Tere are also one to one glassblowing lessons and educational group workshops for individuals and groups. At a glass blowing workshop Stuart will help participants achieve their glass making goal, this is a fabulous experience and gift vouchers are available. Visitors are welcome to visit the studio and watch glass being transformed into works of art. Te studio and gallery can be found just behind the main shopping street near the multi-story car park.
