of surfing schools and shops. Te local attractions, and a busy events calendar is why St Ives is ideal for an unforgettable holiday. Te Castle Inn does good food and is renowned for real ale.


In the town, and at the harbour, there are specialist surf and a mix of the usual shops, plus a few galleries etc. From the harbour there are boat trips and craft or beach sport items of all kinds for sale or hire.


Surfing, water-sport, beach events and so much more, makes the town often buzzing with excitement. Tere is a Feast Day in February, May Day celebrations, town processions, home-grown theatre productions, the St Ives Festival in September, the 200 year old Knill Ceremony, Regatta Week, and the New Year’s Eve celebrations.


Te four beaches are: Porthmeor, renowned for its surfing and Porthgwidden, sheltered in a cove. Harbour and Porthminster are golden sand family beaches minutes from the town centre. Away from the beaches local attractions include a recreation ground with children’s play & skate-park and stunning flower displays, the Leach Pottery, Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Museum, the St Ives Museum and the St Ives Society of Artists.


For a game of pool or billiards, the fully licensed HARBOUR POOL & BILLIARDS club aim to be a home from home with tasty food or a fresh coffee, in a cosy but un-crowded lounge. Visitors are welcomed.


A mile from St Ives is one of Cornwall’s award-winning Blue Flag beaches, at Carbis Bay, where there is rarely any surf, making this is an ideal spot for families with toddlers. Dogs are welcome on the beach between 5-8am. At low tide it is possible to access Porth Kidney sands and a RSPB Bird Sanctuary. Te Carbis Bay Hotel provides the sustenance.
