At GLASTONBURY ABBEY from March to October, costumed guides, playing characters from the Abbey’s past, will tell you with humorous touches a little of the Abbey’s history and legends. Ten there are many events and family activities during the school holidays. From May until late September there is a cafe for tea, coffee, cakes.


ABBEY TEA ROOMS overlooks Glastonbury Abbey and is popular with visitors and locals alike. Tere is always something to suit the whole family, from a selection of morning coffees, a wide range of home cooked lunches, and of course, traditional afternoon teas with a variety of cakes, all displayed on a large table, that have all been made on the premises. For a bargain, Street is home to the CLARKS SHOPPING VILLAGE. A visit here can be multi functional with a choice of bagging bargains. Visiting the CLARKS SHOE MUSEUM, a

Somerton is reputedly the 7th century Royal Capital of Wessex. Te 17th century market cross in the square, town hall and elegant houses are of architectural and historical interest. Te town has the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen to see craftsmen at work, and there is a shop. Somerton Arts Festival is in July. Te White Hart in the middle of the village is worth a try.
