orth Devon offers an array of attractions, festivals, carnivals,


exhibitions, open-air theatre, water-sport events and competitions. Tis coast is different to that of the south as it not so commercialised. Terefore, whatever you wish to do can be personalised. Some fantastic places are available for eating out. Tere are golden sandy beaches, dramatic coastlines, rugged moors and verdant valleys. Tere is an amazing range of places to stay from holiday and camping parks to high-end hotels or B/B. Te area is well served with excellent food pubs, cafes and restaurants offering the very best of Devon fayre. Te following is a potted guide to some of the holiday towns and villages.


Dogs, children and walkers are very welcome. Te Inn has a growing reputation for providing real ale, fine wines and good food which is served from 12 noon to 3pm and from 6pm till 9pm on weekdays throughout the winter. During the summer and on weekends, food is served from 12 noon till 9pm.


Lynton and Lynmouth are traditional resorts with boat trips, mackerel fishing, historic houses, inspiring gardens, and places to eat and stay. Te Victorian Cliff Railway offers a unique form of transport up the cliffs. Should you fancy browsing local products and watching craftsmen artwork, the Lyn Valley Art & Crafts Centre is the place to visit.


Countisbury is a hamlet on Exmoor. It is roughly two


miles east of Lynmouth along the A39.


THE BLUE BALL INN at Countisbury is a dog friendly traditional Inn located in the heart of the country’s most spectacular hiking and walking trails on Exmoor.
