YARNMARKETHOTEL

Te WEST SOMERSET STEAM RAILWAY operates trips from the seafront railway station along the coast as far as Bishops Lydeard, about twenty miles away. Tere are several steam festivals each year and much more.

Te Exmoor National Park is not an untouched wilderness as tourism, farming, the animals and the care of fauna and flora all play an important role in maintaining the biodiversity of the landscape. Te following is a potted selection to some of towns and villages. When visiting this expanse of wilderness, please do not feed the animals and leave no more than a footprint.

Dunster is a gateway to Exmoor, and one of the most visited villages in Somerset. A good selection of restaurants and tearooms, pubs and hotels will satisfy. For the historically minded, there are over 200 old buildings, including: the 11th century Dunster Castle and the Old Yarn Market in the middle of the High Street. Dunster has events in and around the

village throughout the summer and autumn. Te Exmoor Visitor Centre, situated at the entrance to the village, has the dates for all events and information on Exmoor.

For a comfortable place to stay or have a great meal, the YARN MARKET HOTEL is a friendly family-run 3* hotel located in the village near the Yarn Market. Pets are welcomed and there are special facilities for walkers and cyclists. Group bookings are welcome and please contact us for ‘special interest’ breaks.
