Fallen tree: Three women were in the car Stuck: The car was wedged under the tree A SAFETY review is to be
carried out on a dangerous section of county road following calls for action from Simon Hart MP.
The A4075 that stretches
between Whitehill and Cresselly has a staggered junction crossing the main road, a primary school and an awkward bend, however there is no speed limit through the village – so cars can legally travel at 60mph. Mr Hart wrote to local
residents to find out their opinion and many wrote back highlighting experiences of terrifying near misses and even collisions. “These were all sent on to
Pembrokeshire County Council Highways department and I am
delighted to say that they have now agreed to carry out a safety review of the section,” said Mr Hart. “I have been told that a site
meeting has taken place with the police and that a speed limit and road safety review will be carried out. Speed surveys will be taken and looked at alongside data about collisions and injuries. This information will then be used to decide whether further intervention – including possible engineering measures are necessary. “This is extremely encouraging
news and I am delighted that the council is listening to the local community. I hope that we will soon see measures taken to slow the traffic down on this section.”
CAUGHT with a quantity of amphetamine mixed with a large amount of glucose, Jason Arnold appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court via video link on Tuesday (Feb 7). The 45-year-old from Heol
Derwen, Haverfordwest pleaded guilty to being in possession of the quantity of cannabis at his home on January 23.
Prosecuting, Sian Vaughan said
that officers attended at Arnold’s address with a search warrant on the date in question. In the kitchen, the officers found
a container of white powder. The 46g was revealed to be a mix of glucose and amphetamine. Defending Arnold, Jonathan
Webb said that glucose is a cutting agent for amphetamine, explaining that there was very little of the drug in the container. Magistrates issued a six month
