sexual violence and promoting the importance of discussing the issue is the theme of a new play from exiled Turkish artists at The Queen’s Hall in Narberth on Saturday (Feb 11). A play which laughs in the face

of violence, the gritty production is formed as a gig and tells the stories of real people about sexual violence, through song and dark humour. ‘Enough is Enough’ is written by

Meltem Arikan and directed by Memet Ali Alabora, with music by Maddie Jones, and includes four female cast members who act as members of a band. The cast includes Maddie Jones, Pınar Öğün, Francesca Dimech and Emma Daman Thomas. Following each performance, a

Shout It All Out Session will be held, where the audience will have a chance to respond to the play’s themes and questioned raised, and discuss how to take action themselves. ‘Enough is Enough’ aims to start

a national conversation about sexual violence and the issues raised in the production. The ‘Enough is Enough’ band have

also released a self-titled debut single from the show, which is available to buy from the show website at enoughisenough-theplay.com. Author Meltem Arikan said:

“Despite all the measure and precautions around the world, abuse,

rape and incest cannot be stopped. No matter how hard the states, institutions and organisations try to implement sanctions, no matter how many awareness campaigns are run, individuals often ignore the pains caused by these incidents. “The aim of this production is to

show audiences how these issues are part of each and every one of our lives and that these things can happen to anyone.

“Using the means of theatre,

music, dance, humour and surprise, we want to create at least a small feeling of awareness, a ‘what if’ moment in the audience that these issues are not far from all of us, and that we often, rather unconsciously, ignore the traumas being experienced around us.” Be Aware Productions Limited

was founded in January 2015 by actress and director Pınar Öğün to create innovative performing and audio-visual art works. The company aims to produce

works with an international dimension and appeal that explore, challenge and expand the limits of the discipline in which they are produced. The company has been selected for Chapter’s new Associate Artist Programme, Peilot, and this production will be the first supported tour from the scheme. Meltem Arikan (Writer), Memet

Ali Alabora (Director and Actor) and Pınar Öğün have worked together

of Caerphilly Castle live to a wider audience, and provides a new experience of watching a Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru production on the big screen. Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru have

worked with Injan on this exciting project. Arwel Gruffydd, Artistic Director of

Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru said of the venture: “The first Theatr Gen Byw live broadcast on February 14 is a milestone in Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru's history. By now, live broadcasts of theatre productions, such as NTLive by the National Theatre and broadcasts by the Royal Opera House are very popular with audiences throughout the world. “This is the first time that a company from Wales has ventured into this field.

It is an exciting venture which allows Theatr Genedlaethol to stay true to our mission of presenting ambitious and imaginative theatre productions in unexpected and unique locations, whilst also remaining committed to our theatre venues and to giving access to our productions to audiences across Wales. “Not everyone can come along to the

Caerphilly Castle, but by broadcasting live, we will be taking the castle to every part of Wales, and bring this site-specific production of Macbeth – as it happens – live to audiences at various venues across the country. The repeat screenings at many of the venues will provide another opportunity to see the production, and this time with English subtitles, so further expanding access to our work.”
