Principality Stadium on Saturday, April 15 - has sold-out middle and lower tier seating already, with over 30,000 Cardiff Blues, Ospreys, Newport Gwent Dragons and Scarlets fans snapping up tickets for the showcase Regional rugby event. JDV is heading for a 74,500 sell-

None shall pass: Milford stop a penalty corner Milford Ladies

Risca

4 1

ON SATURDAY, February 4,

Milford Haven Ladies recorded their first win of 2017 as they hosted bottom of the table Risca. The match started with the

home side owning lengthy spells of possession and moving the ball well around the pitch with some neat passages of play. The breakthrough came midway in the half when Rachel Coe was first to react to a rebound after youngster Meg Jones’ initial strike was saved

by the keeper. Shortly afterwards it was the youngster that added to the score as she found the backboard after a goal mouth scramble. With a two goal cushion Milford had a lapse in concentration and Risca kept the

pressure on with a series of attacking short corners that the home defence managed to keep out. After the interval it was the visitors

that started the better side and they were rewarded through a defensive mistake resulting in an own goal. With Risca back in the game, the

home side reacted positively and an effective break by Charlotte Davies, played the ball into Coe who finished off the move with a well-timed strike. After increasing the lead Milford

enjoyed the majority of possession and the home defence dealt with the visitors counter attack well, giving keeper Yasmin Riggs little to do in the last quarter. The home side had the final say of

the game as a skilful finish by man of the match Meg Jones completed her brace and the home side secured the

three points. Captain Emma Summons stated

“It was a positive performance by the squad. Good to get the win and hopefully take confidence into next week’s game”. Squad: Emma Summons, Yasmin

Riggs, Vicki John, Kate Farr, Jane Jordan, Charlotte Davies, Sian Davies, Georgia Davies, Rachel Coe, Meg Jones, Steph Layton, Kasey Arran, Jess Barrett. Milford’s next fixture takes

place tomorrow (Feb 11) away at Gwernyfed.

tickets had been sold for the annual Guinness Pro12 double-header in the Welsh capital - JDIV would later break the attendance record for any match in the history of regional rugby, with 68,262 fans sending national stadium turnstiles spinning. The previous Welsh domestic

record saw 58,000 fans attend the Neath v Llanelli WRU Challenge Cup Final in 1989. The record attendance at any

match involving a region had been 65,756 – when the Ospreys beat Leicester Tigers at Twickenham in the EDF Energy Cup Final in 2008. Prices have been frozen for the

third year running at just £10 per head for each seat in the house as Welsh Rugby pools resources to head for its first capacity Judgement Day occasion.

Cardiff Blues take on the Ospreys

in the first clash of the day, kicking off at 2.45pm, swiftly followed by Newport Gwent Dragons versus Scarlets at 5.15pm “Current sales rates indicate

Judgement Day V will sell-out, which will be a huge fillip for Welsh Rugby,” said Welsh Rugby Union chairman Gareth Davies. “Welsh Rugby has worked hard

together on this event and Judgement Day has grown in size and stature year on year since its inception in 2012, when 36,000 supporters turned-out for the inaugural double derby day. “Every year since, the crowd has

significantly increased and last season the event really came of age as a true celebration of the Regional game in Wales. “In 2017 JDV is set to be even bigger and better than ever before.” Tickets are available at £10 per

person from www.wru.wales/tickets (where print-at-home is available), or by calling 0844 847 1881, in person from the WRU Ticket Office on Westgate Street or from each of the four Regions. Season tickets purchased from

either of the home teams - Cardiff Blues and Newport Gwent Dragons - include access to Judgement Day V, with fans asked to liaise with the respective box offices.
