a run forward but when he was tackled he dropped the ball and knocked it on, giving possession back to the home side.
Pembroke again came forward
but when they got close their line out wasn’t straight and Milford had the ball back in their hands. Milford’s Ryan Mansell was then
shown a yellow card and after kicking the ball to touch Pembroke had another chance to open the scoring. However, Milford won the lineout

and were able to clear their lines. Pembroke had the ball in their hand and looked to play across field but Archie Smithies did well to intercept the ball before running on to score the opening try. Jamie Barnett then added the extra two points to give the Mariners a 0-7 lead. Towards the end of the first half
Milford’s Barnett was shown a yellow card for a tackle after the whistle and that gave Pembroke another chance to get on the score board. Milford held on till half time but
Pembroke came out for the second half determined to reduce the deficit and they were eventually rewarded. Barry John broke down the left

MILFORD HAVEN returned
to winning ways on Saturday, February 4, as they beat Pembroke 14-10 in a hard-fought game. After defeat to St Clears the
previous week, Milford were keen to show that they are still in contention for promotion.
They came up against a Pembroke
side who had won three of their last four matches and sat in fourth place in the table. The game started in dry conditions
on Saturday but both teams started tentatively as they gave the ball away on a number of occasions. Pembroke had the first real drive
forward but after winning a lineout in the Milford 22, they were guilty of giving the ball away and Milford were

the ball through and it looked as if Josh Thomas would run on to touch the ball down. Pembroke’s John had other ideas and resorted to a last-ditch slide tackle, more accustomed to the football field, to take Thomas out and prevent the try. The referee penalised Pembroke
and from the restart, Milford eventually pushed their way over for their second try at the third time of asking. Barnett then sent the conversion through the posts for a 5-14 lead. Ten minutes later, Pembroke were

back in the game when a kick down their right hand side was chased down by Simon Stanford, playing on permit from Tenby, who touched the ball down to reduce the gap. The conversion from Hartland
was a difficult one out on the right touchline and his kick fell short to leave the score at 10-14. With five minutes to go Pembroke
pushed forward looking for a try that would have given them victory. They were given a penalty and instead of opting to kick for touch Hartland chose to kick at goal. Hartland sent the penalty wide of the posts and the chance to snatch victory had gone. Milford held on for the victory
which keeps them in touch with top of the table St Clears, while Pembroke stay fourth in the table. Pembroke now take a break
before their next fixture while Milford play Cardigan in the cup on Feb 18th.
NARBERTH suffered a narrow
defeat to Beddau on Saturday, February 4, as they lost 29-28. It was an emotional weekend for
Beddau following the sad passing of Tom Owen and the game was a fitting tribute to his memory. Ollie Reyland got the Otters on the
score board early on with a try and Nick Gale added the extra two points. Gale also added a conversion but was unable to convert Dan Smith’s try. Hywel Chatham scored a penalty for
the home side and they then got back into the game with a try from Jack Dando.

Jordan Goodwin also scored a try
while Chatham scored with one of his two conversion attempts to level the scores at 15-15. In the second half, Dando scored his
second try of the game while Carl Lewis also went over with one more conversion coming from Chatham. The Otters responded well and
scored a penalty through Nick Gale before he and Gethin Gibby went over for tries. Gale had a tough task with the
conversion and he was unable to send it through the posts which gave Beddau victory. Narberth pick up a bonus point for
their efforts but they slip to third after Tata’s win.
WHITLAND were blown
away by table toppers Kidwelly in the second half of their match on Saturday, February 4. The Borderers had picked up two
good results in the previous weeks and it looked like their good form would continue as they held a 19-11 lead at the break.
However, league leaders Kidwelly
showed why they are top of the table scoring thirty points in the second half to bring Whitland’s good run to an end. The away side had tries through Deian Augustus with the conversion

coming from Nico Setaro. Rhys Sivorney and Zac France
Miller also crossed over for tries while Setaro added one more conversion. Kidwelly came out for the second
half in a determined mood and that showed as they stormed into the lead to eventually come out on top. Liam Smith and Alex Davies both
scored tries for Kidwelly with Gareth Rees converting both. Rees then scored two tries of his
own and two more followed from Tom Rogers while Rees added a further two conversions and a penalty. The win keeps Kidwelly top of the
table but results elsewhere mean that Whitland have slipped back into the league’s bottom two.

away from the league’s bottom two place as they beat Pontyberem 30-15 on Saturday, February 4. Matthew Murphy scored an early
try for Pontyberem with Mike Sauro adding the extras before he also scored with a penalty. Gwilym Evans led the response for
a superb Fishguard with a try which was converted by Kial Keane. Chris Shousha and Simon James also crossed over for the home side

LAUGHARNE put in a
dominant second half display as they stormed to victory over St Davids on Saturday, February 4, despite the Saints taking the lead in the first half. It was Rhys Morgan who went
over first to stun their opponents but the conversion attempt was missed. Dafydd Williams then scored a
penalty for the Saints to extend their lead to eight points and they had early hopes of pulling off an upset victory. However, Laugharne hit back
but their tries went unconverted giving them a 17-10 lead at half time. Iestyn Morgan brought Pontyberem
back into the game in the second half with their second try but the conversion was missed. The home side did well to keep
them from scoring any further tries and the Seagulls sealed the game in the closing stages. Shousha added a second try and

with a try from Gareth Spiers with the conversion coming from Tom Jameson. Jack Morris then went over to put
the home side in the lead but this time the conversion was missed giving them a 12-8 lead at half time. Spiers added a second try in the
second half, as did Morris, while ill- discipline saw the referee award the home side a penalty try. Mike Williams and Tom Jameson
also went over while Jameson added four conversions to the second half tries scored. Steffan Davies and Steve Brown
completed the scoring for a Laugharne side who picked up their eighth win of the season to stay fifth in the table.
