model and the sound quality is excellent.” Continuing in the main room, six APG TB218S subwoofers have been installed to take care of the low frequencies. Four at the front, which take centre stage on the dancefloor, and two towards the back in the seating area. For the side fill, BVCAM installed APG DS15’s and SUB238S’s. Danny continued: “We put some subs along with the side fills because we wanted to ensure a good punchy sound.” This is the first installation of this size in China to use APG loudspeakers. Danny said: “When we made the design we wanted to make every corner the same sound pressure level. All the sound is stable, the same as on the dancefloor, so there’s no difference between the corner position and the dancing position. Even if you sit in the corner you can still get really good quality sound from the loudspeakers.” The speakers are controlled using two APG DMS26 processors. An Allen & Heath GL2400 compact, dual-function mixing console operates the sound system. While three XTA GQ600 equalisers look after the EQ. A total of four

Lab.gruppen FP 10000Q amplifiers power the sound system. Aside from the main area at Babyface, there is a large VIP area named the King Room. It is available for private hire, and is designed particularly for the most important VIPs. This area is split over two floors. APG DS12S and DS15’s are used on the lower floor, while DS8’s are installed on the upper level. The King Room can cater for karaoke parties, a popular Chinese past time. And if the guests simply require music, this can be filtered in from the main room, or they can request a private DJ. There are a further 12 smaller VIP rooms. Each has its own individual décor and lighting scheme. All are equipped with two APG DS12S loudspeakers and one APG SUB138P subwoofer. In all of the VIP rooms the soundproofing is very good, it blocks out all exterior noise. This allows customers to enjoy their own private parties at Babyface. The sound even continues at the entrance to the club and in the toilets. In both of these areas, APG MX1’s provide the coverage. A small and compact speaker that is able to deliver ample sound to those more discreet areas, but at the same time adds to the full experience of Babyface. Mr Dai said he is very pleased with the work BVCAM has carried out for this project. Danny said: “We are not just selling, we are also very passionate about our after service. Even though we have finished the installation here Mr John visits frequently to check the system in order to make sure everything is the same as we designed. And this is free of charge, it’s part of our agreement.” Mr Dai extended the praise when he said: “I am planning the renovation of my next project and I want to use APG again.” Xavier Pion, APG’s International Sales & Marketing also thanked BVCAM for its hard work. He said: “This installation at
