EXPO DIARY GUIDE VIDEO PROJECTORS PRODUCT DIRECTORY
Now that the dust has settled on another year of Prolight + Sound, we can look back and reflect. This year’s Frankfurt was used as a platform to announce the latest industry news and products. Nothing new there. But what was new, and exciting in comparison to the last couple of years, was the positivity between exhibitors and visitors alike. Seeing visitors thoroughly enthused by what the show had to offer, and seeing exhibitors proudly introduce their latest products, is a happy sight for all. In this section you’ll find many smiling faces amongst our PL+S report, as well as a round up of the highlights from the show.
The beginning of March was a busy spell for the Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou. It hosted three tradeshows for the sound, light and video markets in the space of two weeks. mondo*dr made it to all three. Justin Gawne attended the first edition of The GET Show, which ran concurrently with an LED show. While Rachael Rogerson visited the China Guangzhou International Expo for Pro Sound & Light the following week. It could be argued that none of the shows really shone in their own right, as none could offer the complete package. Why organisers make the decision to host similar tradeshows in the same area just one week apart is baffling. We’ve seen it happen before (with SIB and Show-Way in Italy, and with Entech Intech and Integrate in Sydney), and in these smaller markets there is ultimately one outcome - one will triumph over the other. Video Projectors are the focus of this issue’s Product Guide. As the world of video continues to evolve at a rapid pace, these products are going to be the ones to watch. And wrapping up the In Business section is our Last Page Interview with Rajesh Sadarangani of Rivera International.
