THE MONTPELLIER ARENA
Company: DTS Location: Montpellier, France
The Montpellier Arena is a new generation, multi-functional hall, which was created through a collaboration between Région Languedoc Roussillon and Montpellier Agglomération. The complex was implemented by Groupe Enjoy Montpellier, which manages the city’s large congress area, including: the Corum: Palais de Congrès - Opéra Ber- lioz, Parc des expositions and Zénith south. The Montpellier Arena was designed by the A+ Architecture Agency in Montpellier and built to comply with the new European energy saving and respect for the envi- ronment legislation. Thanks to its modular, adaptable design, the Montpellier Arena acts as a sports hall, events arena, congress hall and exhibition centre. It can hold from 9,000 to 14,000 people depending on the event in question, and the struc- ture offers users 13,500 sq metres of space in an exhibition configuration. Its entrance is one of the structure’s most representative and imposing elements, with its 100 metres long glass wall surmounted by a wide protruding cornice. The cornice’s lower face extends inside the glass wall to become the hall ceiling and is finished using a special texture to enhance colour projection. To light this area, designers chose DTS DELTA 7 LED technology projectors, which were supplied by ESL. Inside, 10 DELTA 7 RGB B fixtures are fixed to the front glass wall horizon- tally. Projectors aim at the ceiling and lights are fitted with wide flood lens (beam opening 40°). DELTA power supply / controllers are placed at a distance. Outside, 12 DELTA 7 RGB B fixtures (four with wide flood 40° lens and eight with medium flood 25° lens) are placed above the eight cube-shaped entrances for the public, and colour the inner face of the wide cornice. The DELTA fixtures are powered and controlled remotely via DMX by six Z20 systems.

SEMINOLE PARADISE
Company: ILUMINARC Location: Hollywood, USA
A total of 400 ILUMINARC architectural wash lights have been installed through- out the grounds of Seminole Paradise, which encompasses a bevy of restaurants, boutiques and stores. All of which surround Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel, the casino’s Hard Rock Café Hollywood and the live entertainment venue, Hard Rock Live. The lighting installation was specified by Audio Systems Consult- ing of Miami, and is the first phase of an ongoing refurbishment project. The property, situated on land owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida has a bril- liant entrance studded with palm trees which line a lake punctuated in the middle by a fountain. These palms are up lit by hundreds of colour-changing Ilumipod 18 IP often programmed to reflect holidays or seasons. They also complement the lighting used in the fountain for coordinated light, music and video shows. Where the palm trees end, a promenade begins and affords a path for guests to walk lakeside past restaurants and landings which offer vantage points of the ex- pansive grounds. Underneath this walkway, illuminating the retaining walls and the water below, are hundreds of Ilumipanel 48 IP wash lights which work in concert with the uplit trees as well as the fountain. The façade of Hard Rock Live is accented by blocks of red, brick-like structures which project from its main wall and are lined by 40 Ilumiline 21 IP exterior wash lights. The entrance is marked by three sets of doors directly below the distinct
Hard Rock Live sign and uplit by four Ilumipod Inground 36 IP wash lights. The outside path leading up to the Hard Rock Live features planters filled with palm trees, foliage and dozens of Ilumipod 18 IP exterior lights.
