All-ACC senior midfielder confesses to prank on a certain North Carolina assistant
Who is your favorite athlete? LeBron James. He is a beast and actually runs the court. Also, he is the only person that can pull off sunglasses inside and at night.
What’s one thing lacrosse really needs? We need some type of stall rule. It would keep the game moving and it would keep fans more interested.
What’s been the proudest moment of your career? Winning the national championship last year. Nobody thought we could win that game, and there is nothing better then shocking the world in the longest game in championship history.
What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome? At the end of preseason my freshman year I had a stress fracture in my shin. This injury took me out of all physical activity for a while. When I was able to play again I had to do workouts before and after practice to get back in shape and back on the field.
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
That would have to be a three-way tie between Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
Sticky-noting Katrina Dowd’s car while she was still new to Carolina [as an assistant last year]. It was the best-kept secret through the year.
What did you want to be when you were younger? First I wanted to be a server girl at Wendy’s. As I got a little older I planned to be a professional soccer player and if that didn’t work out, I would become a famous singer.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I put my game-day sports bra on and straighten my hair. Look good, play better. I walk out on the field next to Sloane Serpe listening to “Let’s Go.”
Overtime (from Team USA coach Richie Meade) How do you define success?
Success is putting in the long hours and the hard work, through the good times and the bad. There will be ups and downs of every journey, but success can be defined by doing what you love with the people you love.
Double Overtime (from Ashley Hulme, Minot, N.D.) Who has been the biggest influence on your success with lacrosse? Katrina Dowd. She’s given me a new perspective on the game. She’s the ultimate lacrosse rat who has helped me take my game to a new level.
