You can change your angle of release and vary where you push the ball.
There’s a difference between sticking a shot and taking a big power shot. In close, I’m not as worried about a big long follow-through.
Hands away from your body so you don’t have to pull back to shoot.
SURPRISE MYSELF
My high school coach knew [Princeton coach] Chris Sailer and asked me if I’d ever thought about Princeton. It was the furthest thing from my mind. It seemed like it would never be possible. It’s been an amazing, incredible experience.
EMBRACE LEADERSHIP
It’s defi nitely been different, but it’s not as much of an individual challenge. Our [junior] class as a whole is expected to be a little more vocal and really, fi rst and foremost, set an example. It’s important to remember you’ll have two years of younger players who are looking at you. That’s the biggest thing. It’s something I think our class is really embracing.
ASPIRE TO COACH
It’s something I’ve been thinking about recently, now that the real world is getting a little closer. It’s a great way to be around the game that I love. You only have so many years to play. Chris really sets the example for what it means to be a great coach. It’s hard to not pick up on that when you play for her for four years. Our two assistants [Jenn Cook and Anne Murray] are right there with her, two of the best coaches I’ve ever gotten to play for. Its rubs off and takes its toll in the best way possible.

fairytale sometimes. It’s challenging academically, but everything here is geared toward making sure students succeed. Everyone here truly knows it’s a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity. I could never see myself anywhere else.
My 2014
Outlook We have a really strong class coming in, and last year our current sophomores were phenomenal. Your confi dence grows so much between freshman and sophomore year, so we’re excited to see what they can do. That class is going to play a big role for us.
>> MY USA PRIDE
Playing for the U19 team [in Germany in 2012] was pretty unreal. I was just so incredibly grateful to have that experience and be on that team and play. I never thought in a thousand years that it was going to work out. To play for Team USA gives you such a sense of pride in your country. You’re playing for something bigger than yourself. It’s such a unique experience.
