COLLEGE PREVIEW 2014 NCAA DIVISION II MEN’S TOP 10
Top Returner FO GREG PUSKULDJIAN (SR.) Puskuldjian (154-for-229; 67.2%) is a difference-maker for the Panthers. Don’t be surprised if he ups his offensive (3g) production, as well.
X-Factors LSM BRIAN CARNEY (SR.) AND LSM RALPH FIELLA (FR.) The Panthers lost a game changer in Kevin Kennedy. Now there are just two long-stick midfielders on the roster and one of them is a freshman.
Top Returner M ANDREW CHADDERDON (SR.) Chadderdon (31g, 18a) was Mr. Clutch for the Dolphins, scoring the winning goal in all three postseason wins, including the NCAA final.
X-Factor G PAT BROTHERS (JR.)
Jeff White went out in style with his 13-save performance in the title tilt, but he leaves a chasm in the net. Brothers was his primary backup, but he’s one of four untested goalies vying for the job.
Top Returner D ANDREW WAGNER (SR.)
The burly All-American defenseman returns for his fourth year anchoring the Lakers’ defensive unit. Wagner’s numbers (25 GB, 11 CT) won’t be stellar, but that’s because teams avoid him in search of weaker links.
X-Factor A DEVEN ALVES (SR.)
The Lakers have snipers like Brady Heseltine (42g) and Jake McAndrew (40g), but who will feed? Only Alves returns with double-digit assists.
Top Returner A MATT BECCARIS (SO.)
Beccaris stepped in as a rookie and paced the Pioneers in points (35g, 15a). Along with Ryan Slane (30g, 13a), LIU Post should score plenty.
X-Factor FO BRANDON BERTONE (SR.)
The Pioneers’ primary faceoff man, Bertone (55.4 percent) hopes to replicate the domination at the position that defined LIU Post’s NCAA championship teams.
Top Returner A TODD NAKASUJI (SR.)
1 2 3 4 5
Most of the big producers have graduated, leaving Nakasuji (31g, 17a) as the only player with more than 35 points returning. He could be in for a monster statistical year if he finds some running mates.
X-Factors M REID REINHOLDT (SO.) AND M VINNY RICCI (SO.) Reinholdt (12g, 23a) and Ricci (20g, 5a) are the likely candidates to take over the major scoring roles in the Saints’ offense.

Top Returner D DANNY MCDERMOTT (SR.) A staple on the Bears’ backline since he arrived, McDermott (69 GB, 41 CT) may find himself playing more long-stick midfield.
X-Factor G ALEX SELTZER (FR.)
Coach Bill Dunn had to bring in three rookies — Alex Seltzer, Godwin Sotome and Peter Izzo — to vie for the goalie position. Seltzer was an all-county goalie at Plainview (N.Y.). The ECC rarely is kind to newbies.
Top Returner A MATT DELMONICO (SR.) A tremendous scorer with the vision to make his teammates better, Delmonico led the Griffins in goals (43) and assists (29). He’ll be a marked man this spring, so look for him to be more of a feeder.
X-Factor M MARC PICHE (JR.)
The attack will be fine, but who can fill the midfield void left by stud James Delaney? Piche was a sharpshooter (13 goals on 26 shots).
Top Returner M REAGAN HARDING (JR.) Harding’s ability to finish out of the midfield caused matchup problems for even the best defenses. His numbers (34g, 8a) could spike this year with improved shot selection.
X-Factor FEEDERS Like ECAC rival Mercyhurst, the Storm has plenty of guys to finish — Trevor Tarte led the country in goals (63) — but lost its assisters.
Top Returner A MATT CROUGH (R-SR.) The Lions endured their post-NCAA championship hangover, and now things are starting to look up, starting with Crough (34g, 13a). Having running mate Billy Richardson (14g, 14a) helps.

Top Returner M MIKE PERDIE (SR.) With 2012 USILA Player of the Year Corey Lunney and Greg Melaugh gone, Perdie (11g, 13a) will have to expand his role out of the midfield.
10 X-Factor G MORGAN GREEN (JR.)
Green snatched the starting role from Connor Reagan as a freshman in 2012, only for Reagan to regain the spot and earn USILA Goalie of the Year honors last spring. Is Green ready to be a starter again?

X-Factor FO MICHAEL FITZPATRICK (SO.) Louis Riley was critical to Dowling’s title run. Fitzpatrick, who took all of 21 faceoffs as a freshman in 2013, is his presumptive replacement.
