COLLEGE PREVIEW 2014 NCAA DIVISION II WOMEN’S TOP 10


Top Returner A JACKIE SILEO (SR.) Sileo, NCAA Division II’s all-time points leader, is one of the country’s most dynamic players at any level and set LIU Post single-season records with 178 points and 117 assists in 2013.


X-Factor M KATIE ROTAN (SR.) Sileo’s roommate is an unsung hero. After a 40-goal, 18-assist campaign in 2013, Rotan should assume an even larger scoring role.


Top Returner A DEVAN CRIMI (SR.) Crimi starred on Adelphi’s title team as a freshman and helped usher the Panthers into their new era, leading the Northeast-10 and ranking sixth in NCAA Division II with 101 points.


X-Factor M MEG BROWN (GR.) Brown’s senior season ended after just two games due to injury. Brown, who has Division I experience (Binghamton), had 42 goals and 54 points in 2012.


Top Returner A KATHLEEN CONESE (SR.) The first-team All-American racked up 41 goals, 15 assists, 35 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers for the Northeast-10 champion Dolphins.


X-Factor G MOLLY MARBUT (JR.)


Marbut highlighted her first season as a starter by making 13 saves in a Northeast-10 championship game victory over Adelphi en route to being tournament MVP.


Top Returner A SARAH OOR (SR.) Oor, an All-American from Uxbridge, Ontario, ranked third in Divison II with 73 assists and fourth with 116 points. She also broke six Limestone program records in 2013, becoming the first player to crack 100 points.


X-Factor D MAIA CZARNECKI (SR.) In her second year after transferring from D-I UConn, the All-American caused 33 turnovers and won the NCAA Elite 89 Award thanks to her 4.0 GPA.


Top Returner A JESSICA PANDOLF (R-JR.) After missing her sophomore season to an injury, the speedy Pandolf returned in a big way in 2013, leading the PSAC and ranking 11th in NCAA Division II with 64 goals.

X-Factor G CHRISSY BAFFUTO (R-SO.) Baffuto (6.75 GAA) made an immediate impact after missing most of her freshman year with a knee injury, leading the Eagles to the NCAA tournament.

Top Returner A CAROLINE LAMERE (SR.) The Tars graduated plenty on offense but return local legend Lamere, who led the team with 54 points (26 goals, 18 assists) in 2013.


X-Factor G ELYSE DE LISLE (SR.) The Tars’ freelancing goalie ranked 10th in Division II with a 9.07 goals against average. Coach Dennis Short said she came into the fall in the best shape he’s ever seen.


Top Returner G JESS HENDERSON (SR.) West Chester’s Henderson, who attended West Chester Henderson (Pa.) High, put up a 7.66 goals against average and was named third-team All-PSAC in 2013.


X-Factor D LIZ WILSON (SR.)


The Golden Rams will need another big season from their defense. Wilson (34 GB, 23 CT) was second-team all-PSAC.


Top Returner D KATHERINE MCDONOUGH (SR.) The second-team All-Northeast-10 defender totaled 22 ground balls, nine draw controls and 13 caused turnovers while leading a unit that ranked fifth in the highly-competitive conference in scoring defense.


X-Factor M KELSEY SHANNAHAN (SR.)


The Skyhawks graduated their top three scorers. Shannahan, who put up 43 goals and 15 assists, could help ease those losses.


Top Returner A JACKIE ANDERSEN (JR.) Andersen runs Dowling’s attack and piled up 56 goals and 34 assists (91 points, 12th in Division II) as a first-team All-ECC honoree.

Top Returner D KATHERINE ATHENS (SR.) Athens (44 GB, 26 CT, 79 DC) is Pfeiffer’s all-time leader in caused turnovers for a career (101) and single season (41 in 2012).

X-Factor COACHING One of Division II’s fastest-rising programs will go through a transition in 2014. As of early January, Pfeiffer still had not found a replacement for coach Dawn Easley, who left for Division I Campbell in December.

X-Factor M SAMANTHA STAVISH (SR.) The defending ECC Defender of the Year has great speed and runs Dowling’s midfield. In 2013 she had 29 turnovers, 21 ground balls and 53 draw controls while adding 41 goals.
