Indoor Composting —
Learn about the benefits of composting your food
scraps and paper waste using different kinds of indoor composting, including vermicomposting (composting with worms) and Bokashi! Urban Worm Girl will teach you how these simple, clean, and odorless methods of composting can be done indoors. Participants can sign up for just the demonstration class (section A) or opt to set up their own mini-worm bin for an additional cost (section B). WHO: ages 16 yr. to adult MAX/MIN: 30/15

Wagner Tales —
Barnyard books and cow tales galore, that is what this program is all about! Children and their parents are invited to attend this 3 week program where we will read fun farm animal books and do story-related crafts and activities. Each week will feature a new children’s book and project. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Fee is per child-adult pair. Register for this adult-child class using child’s name. A visit to the farm will have lasting memories. Your child is invited to come to the farm to do the before supper chores. There are animals to tend to, the kitchen garden to be weeded and the corn field is ready for harvest. Chore boots and gloves are provided. WHO: ages 6 to 16 yrs. MAX/MIN: 6/1 ID#

Bring Your Group to Wagner Farm! —
Tours of Wagner Farm are available to groups including preschool and elementary classes, adult day care and scout groups. Camp group visitations are also scheduled in the summer. To arrange a tour for your group, call (847) 657-1506.
Wagner Farm Sweets & Treats
Located inside the Heritage Center, Wagner Farm Sweets & Treats recalls the charm and nostalgia of an authentic soda fountain, right down to the marble countertop, floor mounted swivel stools and turn of the century tin ceiling. Stop on in for hand-dipped cones, sundaes, floats and shakes made with Homer’s Ice Cream.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream--or cheese, or butter, or even yogurt. Come visit Wagner Farm’s milking parlor to participate in a milking demonstration and explore the many ways people have been using dairy throughout time. Participants will learn how milk is taken from the cow to the table and make their own ice cream to enjoy. NOTE: Only paying participants may take part in the program.
