Visual Arts Adult Painting —
Individual instruction in a classroom setting for beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Find your niche with the guidance of a professional artist. You can paint realism, abstract or anything in between working one-on-one with the instructor to meet your individual needs. You will learn how to put more drama and impact in your paintings. Understanding the value of highlights and shadows will allow you to paint with passion as never before. Beginners will learn composition, perspective, how to use a color wheel and mixing of colors. Watercolor —
Watercolor is a beginning level course that systematically moves students through exercises of color mixing, brush and paint application, wash, transparency and glazing. Through exercises and direct observation of still life set-ups, students explore the concepts of line, shape/form, space, color, value, movement, composition and painterly expression. At the instructor’s discretion, students will be divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced groups with appropriate exercises at each level. Drawing Level I —
Drawing is a foundation level, step-by- step program to introduce students to the various aspects of drawing expression. Visual concepts taught will include line, shape/form, space, value and composition. Students will use a variety of drawing mediums including penil, graphite stick, charcoal, conte and ink. Emphasis will be placed on direct observation through classroom set-ups and still life problems. The instructor will present master drawings from the history art. All levels are welcome.
