MICROSOFT ESSENTIALS
These classes include complimentary job testing conveniently from your own home or at Computer Training & Support Services. The software testing provided is the same testing provided by prospective employers. You will receive a copy of the test results which then in turn may be attached to your resume or used in your enrollment process as required by a potential employer. Depending on your test results, a letter of recommendation may be provided.
All classes take place at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., room 102.
Introduction to Microsoft Word 2010 —
Learn the essentials of Microsoft Word and word processing. Create, navigate and save documents, apply character and paragraph formatting, insert symbols and create headers and footers. Find out how to check spelling and grammar, add page breaks, work with document views and learn how to print. Adding graphics and clip art will also be covered. Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2010 —
Learn the essentials of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets, to create and save workbooks, format and text and numbers, select ranges and move or copy data. Learn how to use formulas and basic functions including creating charts. Explore printing options for worksheets and how to insert pictures. Digital Cameras I —
This class will introduce you to your camera’s hidden secrets learning how to use it to take quality pictures, how to transfer pictures from the camera to your computer, organize photos into picture folders and how to adjust picture quality. Also covered in this class will be how to backup photos to a CD to which students will be provided in class. Students will learn the exciting features of basic photo editing which will include adjusting brightness, coloring, cropping and removing red-eye. Time permitting; students will learn how to send pictures via email to family and friends. Please bring your camera to class, one will be supplied if you do not have one. Introduction to the iPhone —
This hands-on class will teach you the fundamentals of your iPhone. In this class, students will learn many functions of their phones, some of which include the uses of calling, sending and receiving text messages, how to use email and using maps. Also covered will be an overview of iCloud and what it might mean for you, how to cut, copy and paste and how to use the App Store to download free applications for your iPhone.
