General Registration Information
Where do I register?
Registration for all Fall recreation, Grove, Air Station Prairie and Wagner Farm programs takes place at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut or by using our online registration system at
glenviewparks.org. You may also register for select ice, golf and tennis programs at Park Center, online or at the respective facility (unless otherwise noted).
Our Online Registration System —
To use our online registration system, you must know your Household Number which can be found on the upper left of your registration receipt. If you do not know your Household Number but have registered for a park district program within the last three years, you may call (847) 724-5670 Mon.-Fri. 9 am-7:30 pm or from 9 am-3 pm on Sat./Sun. You may also e-mail registration@
glenviewparks.org to obtain your Household Number. If you have never registered for a park district program before, or have changed your residency within the Glenview Park District boundaries, you must submit a paper registration form along with a copy of one of the following documents showing proof of residency: house purchase contract or apartment lease, current gas or electric bill, real estate tax bill, or homeowners or rental insurance policy. Be sure to include your e-mail address when filling out the paper registration form.
How do I register? IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT…
Resident Priority Registration is open to anyone currently residing in the Glenview Park District as well as those who submit a copy of a signed purchase contract for a home or a signed lease showing that they will be residing in the park district when the program they are registering for begins. Resident Priority Registration begins online, in person, by mail or fax at 9 am on Thurs., Aug. 2 and ends on Sun., Aug. 12. The park district reserves the right to request proof of residency prior to processing new households.
IF YOU ARE A NONRESIDENT OR MISS THE RESIDENT PRIORITY DEADLINE… General Registration begins at 9 am Mon., Aug. 13 on a first- come, first-served basis. Nonresident fees are generally 25% higher (unless otherwise indicated), up to a maximum of $100.
Waiting List Policies & Second Choice Rules —
1. If you only select a first choice and it is full, your payment will be processed and you will be put on the waiting list for that section.
2. If you list a second choice option and your first choice is full, your payment will be processed and you will be placed into your second choice if there is an opening. If your second choice is also full, you will be placed on the waiting list of your first choice only.
3. Participants may only be added to a wait list section if they have not been accepted into another section of that same class. Once the participant has been accommodated into a section of the program, they may not maintain a wait- ing list spot for any other section of that same program.
Transfer & Refund Policy —
Transfers are allowed after lotteries and up to 24 hours after the first class meeting. This timetable provides the flexibility for a participant to try a class while helping the district assess changes in class availability before too many classes have occurred.
Refunds will be granted up to 24 hours after the first class meeting. A 10% cancellation charge per program will be assessed, minimum fee assessed $5 and a maximum fee of $15 per program. After this time, no refunds will be granted except for medical purposes or change in residence (proof required) and there will be a pro-rated refund based upon number of classes held.
These regulations apply to recreation and instructional programs throughout the park district. They do not apply to daily
admissions, memberships, rentals, trips, specialized services, continuing skill programs, sports leagues or programs such as Park Center Preschool or Glenview Titan Aquatic Club. These services have specific policies as part of the information provided to the participant at the point of registration.
HOW DO I GET A REFUND?
Call (847) 724-5670 or visit Park Center to apply for a refund. Allow two weeks to receive your refund. Refunds will be issued net of any outstanding balances owed by you to the park district. If there is no outstanding balance, the refund will be made by check or credit card based upon the method of payment used at the time of registration. No refund checks issued under $2.00.
4. Participants may be placed on a maximum of one waiting list section of any program.
5. To be added to a waiting list, a program registration form must be completed and the program fee paid in full. You may not be added to a waiting list by phone call or hand- written note. The position on the waiting list is based upon when the registration form is processed by the district.
6. If after two meetings of the program, you have not been accom- modated into the program, your payment will be refunded in full.
May I register for a friend?
To register for a friend you must bring a completed registration form on which the Waiver and Release of All Claims and Assumption of Risk has been signed by a parent or legal guardian. Only one additional form per person will be accepted when registering in person.
How do I know if I’m in a program?
If you are registering online or from the digital brochure, you will be able to print your own receipt. If you are registering in person, you will be given the choice of a paper receipt or an e-mailed receipt at the time of registration. If you mail/fax your registration, your receipt will be e-mailed or mailed to you. If you are placed on a wait list the initial receipt will show that you are on the wait list and you will receive an updated receipt once you have been placed in the class. In the event your program is cancelled, you will be notified and your program fee refunded.
Are you covered?
The park district does not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Checks should be made payable to the Glenview Park District. A $20 processing fee is charged for returned checks. The park district also accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and debit cards on which a MasterCard or Visa logo appears.
