Microgaming re-themed its ICE bar every day

Microgaming completely changed the look and feel of its Microgaming Bar on each of the three days of ICE to promote the three headline stories bursting out of the online gaming giant at this year’s show. Te first day was devoted to the online slot Microgamig is developing in ode to the dinosaur island blockbuster film Jurassic World, then Phantom of the Opera and finally Castle Builder II

Microgaming signed a licensing agreement with Universal Brand Development in 2016 to create an online slot based on the blockbuster film. Tis is in addition to the Jurassic Park franchise deal that was announced in January 2014 and resulted in the award-winning Jurassic Park online slot that roared to life in August of the same year.

Te entire bar was themed, containing dinosaur eggs, mosquitoes preserved in amber, as well as the installation of a mammoth 5m x 5m shark- eating Mosasaurus, a replica of the genetically modified reptile from the Late Cretaceous period, featured in the blockbuster Jurassic World movie.

Day two saw the whole bar change to be adorned with extravagant chandeliers, spectacular drapes and original props as the theatre came to town.

Microgaming has signed a licensing agreement with Te Really Useful Group to make an online slot based on the 2004 movie version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Te Phantom of the Opera. Te online giant brought the world’s biggest opera to the show, with West End stars taking centre stage on the bar singing the musical’s title track. Crowds gathered to watch each performance.

Te online slot developed by Microgaming and due out later in the year will feature the main characters, musical numbers and original footage from the film.

David Reynolds, Games Publisher at

Microgaming, explained: “Tis is the start of a very content-rich, content-driven 2017 for Microgaming. Te Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide. It’s exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games. Due out in Q3, this game will be a true celebration of the world’s biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round.”

Te third day saw Microgaming promoting the soon-to-be-released Castle Builder II with a huge sandcastle being sculptured live at the bar. Castle Builder II is bigger and better than its predecssor, providing players with an entirely new world. Troughout the game, players unlock exciting achievements as they build various castles by collecting the finest materials from kingdom to kingdom.

Te five-reel, level-based slot also offers freedom of choice, with three player avatars all with different storylines, and each providing a different feature set. In total there are 15 kingdoms to explore, 75 castles to build and 300+ characters to interact with.

Te game also features a comprehensive achievement and cup challenges system where trophies can be earned, giving players continuous progression as they improve their avatars skill level.
