Just before Christmas 2016, Metric Capital Partners, a London-based private capital firm, provided a credit package to back Win Systems’ acquisition of Slovenian gaming machines and electronic roulettes producer Gold Club

Te deal saw Metric Capital provide a structured credit instrument to Barcelona- based Win Systems to support the acquisition and secure an undisclosed stake in Win Systems. Metric chairperson John Sinik as well as partner Giovanni Miele have joined Win Systems' board of directors following the transaction, of which financial details have not been disclosed.

Following the acquisition, the group has reached a headcount of 300 and is expanding its market reach across Europe, South Africa and the Americas with Gold Club continuing under its own brand.

At the time of the deal, Eric Benchimol, CEO of Win Systems, said: “Te acquisition of Gold Club provides us with significant and immediate access to new markets and customers. We have grown exponentially in the past 18 months and we are looking forward to harnessing the power of the newly-integrated businesses as a springboard to further growth.

“Tis landmark deal will allow us to offer more products and services to our existing customers as we become a fully-integrated omni-channel provider of systems solutions to the global industry. It is a tremendously exciting time for us and we cannot wait to get started.”

Speaking to Mr. Benchimol at ICE 2017, he reiterated his mandate to expand Win Systems beyond the sole provision of the company’s innovative casino management system, WIGOS, now installed in over 260 casinos in 17 countries worldwide. “We are seeking to provide a wider range of solutions to our customers,” stated Mr. Benchimol. “Not just systems, but cabinets, game content, VLTs, online and mobile as part of a complete 360 degree solution.”

At the ICE show in London, Win Systems

combined its systems solutions with the wide range of multi-player machines on offer from Gold Club. Win showcased its Wigos casino management system at the show, including its Intellia business intelligence tool and WinUp, a solution developed for casinos to keep in touch with players via a customer App. Gold Club, meanwhile, exhibited its new Lumia Plus LED roulette series and showed five new games for its new and improved cabinet: Fortune of Ra, Lions Kingdom, Marco Polo, Rhinos Storm and Wild Fest, while it will also demonstrated its machine tools and bespoke jackpot facilities.

Building on its success at ICE, Win Systems timetable for growth is ambitious, with Mr. Benchimol hoping to complete the 360 circle within the next 24 months, predominately through acquisitions. “We are following the market trend,” said Mr. Benchimol. “In that the operators are fueling the consolidation of the industry through the support of one- stop-solutions. Our acquisition of Gold Club fits perfectly with this model, as it is a wholly complementary deal. Tere are no product overlaps and our markets strengths combine to make a much stronger company together than apart.”

Win Systems has stated that the acquisition is not an exercise in right-sizing and reducing costs, but the opposite, with Win investing in products and people, vastly increasing the development capability of the company. “We will continue manufacturing in Slovenia and increase the capacity of the plant,” stated Mr. Benchimol.

“We are going to grow the business on the systems side into more markets and increase our presence in existing markets. We are going to increase our games output and add more variety in the cabinets in a short period of time. We are entering an exciting period for Win Systems and our customers.”

Michaela Drews and Payam Zadeh at ICE

JCM Global took the opportunity to present its new FUZION concept to visitors at ICE, which when combined with the company’s iVIZION bill validator, GEN5 ticket printer and a location’s existing casino management system, opens a host of new revenue potential for operators. It is a development that has huge potential in global markets and at ICE, JCM was assessing the feedback of its EMEA customers to what could be a game-changing product for the market.

Te FUZION fits with JCM’s shift in positioning from being a purely validation company to one that is much more a solutions provider across a range of separate, but complementary market sectors. “We are targeting a range of gaming segments in 2017,” stated JCM Global’s Payam Zadeh at ICE London. “Te betting sector holds great potential for us with our printing and systems solutions, especially in the UK. And we are seeing a great deal of interest in Asian markets for our back-office cash management solutions.”

JCM Global is seeking to close the circle between bill validation at the point of customer transactions at the machine, and the management of currency in back-of-house, offering a range of sorting machine and intelligent cash box management solutions that JCM will be providing directly to casino operators. Other validation solutions include UBA, iPRO-RC, Vega, Vega-RC and Vega-RC Twin, EBA, TBV, Fujitsu F53/56, and the recently released RDM. JCM printing solutions include the new and technologically advanced GEN5 thermal printer, the CouponXpress coupon solution and the Nippon printer.

“Germany continues to be a fantastic market for us,” stated Mr. Zadeh. “We continue to build upon our 90 per cent ship-share and both Spain and South Africa have become terrific markets for our cash management and ticketing solutions. Last year was the best revenue year for JCM Global in both gaming and non-gaming sectors and we look forward to further growth in 2017.”
