Konami quick on the draw with Rapid Revolver
Towards the end of last year, the first Konami slots themed specifically for the Asian market burst onto Macau’s slot floors with Melco Crown’s Studio City becoming the first to install Konami’s famed Rapid Revolver slot machine. Since then Rapid Revolver has been installed across a variety of different casinos in Macau and is proving both a ‘speedy’ and ‘sure fire hit’ with players
Rapid Revolver, the one-of-a-kind premium cabinet, takes a unique spin on classic mechanical reels by mounting six stacked drums on its oversized top box, surrounded by synchronised high-impact sound and lighting.
Designed to stand out on a casino floor and grab the attention of casino guests, Rapid Revolver presents two distinct gaming concepts fused into one by combining traditional video reel on the lower screen with spinning reels up top.
Konami’s big roll-out has continued into the Philippines and Malaysia with four-level linked progressive, Brothers of Fortune, proving the focused formula of Asia-specific slots is driving operator success on gaming floors. Te plan, following approvals, is to roll out the link onto Macau’s gaming floors in the near future.
Andrew Cammegh
Cammegh’s order for the huge casino will consist of 24 wheels and displays and marks the company’s third success in Manila’s Entertainment City, following installs with City of Dreams Manila and Resorts World Manila.
Tiger Resorts, the $2.7bn integrated entertainment and gaming center is due to open by the end of this year.
Andrew Cammegh said: “We’re delighted to sign this deal with Tiger, giving us a 100 per cent success rate with the new casinos in the Philippines’ Entertainment City. Tiger has asked us to design some beautiful, customised roulette wheels featuring hand-painted iconic emblems, such as Mount Fuji and cherry blossom. Tey really do look amazing. Te Asian region as a whole continues to be a great success for Cammegh. We are the wheel of choice in both Singapore casinos. We supplied nine Mercury 360 wheels to Galaxy Macau with unique Asian designs customised to Galaxy’s requirements and, was completed in plenty of time for the opening of Galaxy Entertainment’s Phase 2 expansion at Galaxy Macau. We’ve installed in the Venetian, where we’ve been able to build on our relations with Las Vegas Sands in Las Vegas, where we have products with both the Venetian and Palazzo. We have launched our side bets featured on the Billboard HD displays in Macau too, a first for the market and we have major accounts in both Australia and New Zealand.”
Cammegh was showing its Aurora and Halo wheels at this year’s show along with multi- board, a new generation of thin displays capable of linking the entire pit.

Charles Seo, Marketing Manager for Konami Australia Pty Ltd, spoke to G3 at G2E Asia: “We’ve had a great many product approvals recently for Macau, so expect games to come thick and fast for this market. We’re obviously delighted with the performance of Rapid Revolver in Macau already. We recognise that Konami came to the market late, but we have brought a unique product that is totally different to those made by our competitors.”
Underlining this point, Konami’s Prophetess of Fortune on Rapid Revolver is powered by a unique multiplier mechanic delivered through the stacked, spinning top-box drums that amplifies wins up to 100x. Te company was
