Insight US Juegos Miami

With over 55 internationally renowned speakers, the Juegos Miami multi-stream conference programme proved to be one of the central features of the premier Pan Latin America and Caribbean gaming industry event, delivering two days of masterclasses, keynote speakers and sessions on lottery, bingo, casino, street games, sports betting, regulation as well as crime and security for online and land based.

Juegos Miami was a bold move for organiser Clarion Gaming, who hosted a Latin America focused networking, conference and minor exhibition event on US soil in May. As a unique hybrid event, Juegos Miami proved that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, with each complementary element providing opportunites to learn, socialise and connect with major players in the South American market

Around 600 attendees, including 40 major exhibitors and sponsors, gathered at the Biltmore Hotel, Coral Gables, Miami on May 31 – June 3, 2016, for an exclusive event serving the needs of the Pan Latin American and Caribbean gaming industry - Juegos Miami. Te unique event, described as: “not a trade show, not a conference, not a networking opportunity – but all of these things wrapped in a single package” by Kate Chambers - Managing Director of Clarion's Gaming Division and part of the team responsible for Juegos Miami - saw companies showcasing their latest products on the exhibition floor.

Novomatic, Playtech, Merkur, JCM GLOBAL, Aristocrat, Quixant and Apollo Games all praised the networking opportunities, focus on learning and ability to spend quality time with attendees at the invitation-only event.

“We’re delighted by the response to the event from exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees especially seeing as it’s the first year. We’ve been really encouraged by the feedback to Juegos Miami and are already working on how to make next year’s event even more unique.”

In addition to the exhibition floor, some companies such as Ainsworth and Merkur also hired dedicated show rooms to carry out additional networking and allow for more face-to-face time with attendees in the relaxed, but professional environment. Event organisers Clarion Events and Urban Expositions designed the show to deliver a relaxed setting allowing for many positive networking opportunities as well as insightful learning opportunities about the dynamic market in the Lat Am and Caribbean region.

Unquestionably, the Biltmore Coral Gables is a fabulous venue and it was a pleasure to circumvent the US’ largest pool en route to the conference floor each morning. Hosting breakfast, lunch and party activities for all attendees brought everyone together at key moments of the day, neatly knitting together the social side of Juegos Miami with the conference and exhibition. However, splitting the event over two floors was less successful, as the exhibition footfall

paled in comparison to the busy roundtable events and legislative updates taking place below. Balancing exhibitor expectations at a networking and conference is always tricky, but attendees universally sung the praises of the event and gave their backing for round two in 2017.

Jo Mayer, Marketing Director at co-organisers, Clarion Events, said: “We’re delighted by the response to the event from exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees especially seeing as it’s the first year. We’ve been really encouraged by the feedback to Juegos Miami and are already working on how to make next year’s event even more unique with even better networking, learning and trade opportunities.”

MERKUR GAMING DELIVERS THE STAR POWER Te inaugural Juegos Miami had many stars and many

star attractions: exhibition, education, conference and social, and Merkur Gaming (the first Tier One manufacturer to place its support behind this unique hybrid event) recorded a star presence of its own; thrilling visitors to its private suite with presentations of its Avantgarde SLT and the brand new Merkurstar slot cabinets.

From the opening Welcome Reception, sponsored by Merkur Gaming, through to the closing first JCM Global Latam Golf Classic four days later, Juegos Miami was full of successes and surprises; a worthy event that hit its target of bringing the many diverse gaming markets of Latin and Central America together under one roof.

Juegos Miami was born from the concept of the late and much missed former Merkur Gaming CEO Jens Halle and his wish to have an event that brought together all the vibrant markets of Latin America in one place and at one time. Tat concept was expanded

Social show draws heavyweight support from LATAM visitors
