CHINA – MGS ANNOUNCES PROGRESSIVE PRICING Macao Gaming Show (MGS), which is taking place across November 17 to 19 at The Venetian, Macao, has underlined its status as the best value event for companies wanting to engage with the all-important Asian gaming market in all of its various forms and disciplines.

The expo organiser, backed by the leading gaming manufac- turers in Macao and the Asia region, is offering this year’s exhibitors the opportunity to double their stand size for no additional cost.

MGS’s progressive pricing structure, which is being taken-up by a growing number of exhibitors, allows companies to secure 100 booth areas for the price of 50, an offer which equates to HKD1 million (circa USD 128,200). The initiative, which was trialled to wide acclaim at last year’s event, forms part of a comprehensive schedule of sales and marketing initiatives to be introduced for the 2015 show.

Ahead of the official launch of the marketing campaign, Jay Chun, Chairman of MGS organiser the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association (MGEMA), declared the show’s intent for building MGS into the ‘one-stop’ event for the worldwide gaming industry. He told an audience of invited media in Macao last week: “It is true to say that in a very short period of time MGS has come an awful long way. Our ‘By Asia for The World’ invitation has gained significant traction within the international community of gaming pro- fessionals, to such an extent that in 2014, 11,987 visitors from 20 countries made the journey to MGS.”

Clarion events reveals dates for next Japan Gaming Congress

JAPAN Clarion Events has announced that the second Japan Gaming Congress (JgC) will take place in October in Tokyo, with the coun- try’s politicians currently prepar- ing to debate significant legisla- tive changes for the industry. Confirmation of the event, which will take place from October 7- 9, has come at an exciting time for the gaming sector in Japan.

For the first time, a bill that could lead to the country allowing casi- no-style gambling in designated integrated resorts (IRs), is due to be deliberated by Japan’s Parliament, the Diet. In the con- text of high-level discussions surrounding the IR model and its possible implementation, JgC will provide a timely platform for national and international opera- tors to analyse the potential of

the Japanese market as well as Asia and beyond.

The focus of the event will be on identifying and implementing an IR model that will maximise ben- efits for all parties, including oper- ators and the Japanese economy, whilst promoting the importance of responsible gaming.

This year’s event will build on the inaugural JgC last May, which fea- tured top speakers such as Koichi Hagiuda, Member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party; Las Vegas Sands President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Leven; MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren; and Thomas Arasi, President, Chief Operating Officer and Board Director of Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels.

Japan Aristocrat Leisure has entered into a sale and purchase agreement for the sale of its Japanese operations to Japan-based Fields Corporation. The sale incorporates Aristocrat’s entire Japan operations, including KK Aristocrat Technologies (KKAT) and KK Spiky. The Japan business had become ‘less relevant to Aristocrat’s recurring revenue footprint.’ Fields Corp said it “sought a way to manufacture pachislot machines” using the latter company’s assets “such as IPs, raw materials, films and software, also to maintain ‘win-win’ relationship with stakeholders such as licensors of content. In the future, we will release new titles as soon as possible.
