Tunderbird Resorts which owns and operates casinos, hotel and restaurants Latin America and Asia. Tey opened their first operation in 1997 in Guatemala followed by four casinos in Panama which was the birth of the Fiesta Casino brand.
Other casinos followed and Fiesta Casino Rizal opened in 2005 and was later followed by Poro Point.
Te company sold these operations in 2013 to Magnum Leisure Holdings (a division of Solar Entertainment Corporation) for $26.5m.
CLARK FREEPORT Te Clark Freeport Zone is a redevelopment of
the former US air base in the province of Pampanga about 60km northwest of Metro Manila. Today it is a hub for business, industry, aviation, tourism and education and a leisure and entertainment and gaming centre with theme parks and casinos.
Te base was closed in 1991 after a volcanic eruption but in 1995 was cleaned up and transformed and is now administered by the Clark Development Corporation.
It is about the size of Singapore and occupies over 33,000 hectares of land and is just 3.5 hours flying time from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan etc. Te CDC posted revenues of P1.554bn last year with a net income of P697m.
Tere are six casinos located in the Clark Freeport Zone (one of which is operated by PAGCOR). Te others are:
Casablanca Casino housed in the Hotel Stotsenberg in Pampanga and inspired by the movie. Te casino has 36 tables and 190 slots.
