New products for 2017 / TCSJohnHuxley recently launched Qorex
electronic gaming solutions which are driven by the Gaming Floor Live platform. Te Qorex terminal delivers innovative design, an intuitive easy to navigate interface and because it’s modular, it’s extremely flexible and can be configured to suit any gaming
environment. Visitors to ICE will see a wide range of configurations that illustrate the flexibility of the system, form large scale stadium
layouts with a live dealer, to self-contained carousel units driven by the Saturn Auto wheel and back-to-back formations that feature state-of-the-art curved screen toppers for crystal clear live game feeds and multiple winning number results. Other new products being debuted this year will be HD Blaze Roulette, a new and improved addition to the Blaze product suite, which now
incorporates even more spectacular animated graphic capabilities to excite players by adding the wow factor to games. Te patented in- game animations can be incorporated to complement existing themes or promotions, providing ever more effective ways of keeping players engaged longer. Demonstrated on roulette at the
show, HD Blaze will also be available for Sicbo and Money Wheel. Newsworthy events to share / Qorex terminal installations will be commencing Q1 in the UK for two major operators and also a significant installation in Asia.

The AGEM Index ended 2016 on a positive note with gains during December 2016 largely offsetting losses experienced during November 2016. The AGEM Index reported a year-over-year increase for the 15th consecutive month, rising 123.96 points, or 62.8 per cent, compared to December 2015. During the latest period, seven of the 13 global manufacturers reported month-to- month increases in stock price, with two up by more than 10 per cent. Galaxy Gaming posted the largest year-on-year percentage gain in 2016, increasing over 200 per cent. 50-percent-plus gains were posted by: Konami, IGT, Scientific Games , Aristocrat Technologies and Crane Co.

AGEM Key Board of Directors Actions l Te 2017 Election of AGEM Officers took place at the January meeting. Te new President was announced as Tom Nieman, who takes up the position for the next 2 years. He takes over for Tom Jingoli, who has done a wonderful job at the helm for the past 7 years. Te other officers voted in are First Vice President Dan Savage, Scientific Games; Second Vice President David Lucchese, Everi; Vice President Of Government Relations Steve DiMasi, IGT; Secretary Mark Dunn, Aristocrat; Treasurer Tom Jingoli, Konami Gaming; Co-General Counsel Harper Ko, Scientific Games, and Co-General Counsel Daron Dorsey, Ainsworth.
l Te Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in America had been considering lowering the tax reporting threshold on jackpot wins from $1,200 to $600 and also looked at tracking play using player loyalty cards. Te American Gaming Association (AGA) had been leading the fight to oppose these efforts, assisted by AGEM. It was announced recently that the IRS has chosen not to move forward with any changes that were perceived as negative for the gaming industry overall.
l Kate Chambers, Managing Director of Clarion Events, organizer of ICE Totally Gaming, gave a short presentation in the run up to the show. Te 2017 show will be approximately 9.5% bigger than last year, opening up an additional two halls with 112 new exhibitors. Pre show registration is up 50% on the same time last year. Tere will be a new format for the Conferences, branded ICE Vox, which will include more panels, roundtables and learning sessions.
l In Japan the first stage of the gaming bill was passed which has cleared the way for parliament to debate a separate bill that will lay out laws that will govern the way casino licenses are awarded. Te government effort at the moment seems focused on problem gambling and is looking to Singapore as a possible model. Realistically, it is unlikely any casinos will open before 2024. Clarion will be hosting the Japan Gaming Congress in Tokyo in May, which will assist in bringing international operators and suppliers together with Japanese counterparts.
l AGEM will once again be supporting the European Casino Association (ECA) by contributing $15,000. Tis will be split between the International Casino Conference (ICC) held at the Hippodrome Casino the day before ICE and the European Dealer Championship taking place in May, also at the Hippodrome.
l Te Nevada Conference on Problem Gambling will take place at the beginning of June and AGEM has agreed to take Gold level sponsorship of $6,500 to support the event. Te Nevada Council on Problem Gambling is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to generate awareness, promote education and advocate for quality treatment and support resources for problem gambling in Nevada.
