Insight MEXICO Tech Treffen

Merkur Gaming ‘meets’ its tech customers and ‘hits’ the mark

“Each country of course has its own technical requirements and our local experts addressed these in detail within the framework of an already proven overall agenda. In Mexico, we believe that this was the first such event ever presented in that country and its value was clearly seen.” Tomas Mieles, Merkur Gaming Americas

Merkur Gaming is the international sales and development brand of adp Gauselmann based in Lübbecke (North Rhine-Westphalia), Germany. In 2015 the business volume of the Group was more than €2bn and currently employs more than 10,000 people.

Merkur Gaming ‘on tour’ with its Tech Treffen concept, bringing the technical operations knowledge and installation expertise of the Gauselmann subsidiary, to the diverse gaming markets of Mexico, Peru and Colombia

In 2013, Merkur Gaming Peru’s Technical Manager, Luis Asmat, devised and produced, as a means of communicating more effectively with a vital segment of casino operators’ workforce, a technical conference and seminar that was titled ‘Tech Treffen’. Te concept has proved so worthwhile that in 2016 it was extended beyond the borders of Peru to include Mexico and Colombia; becoming known collectively as ‘Tech Treffen Tour 2016’.

Taking in Mexico City, Lima and Bogota and using the same format and agenda throughout the Tour had Merkur Gaming Product Manager, Hartmut Sanger as the keynote speaker at all three venues and covered a broad range of topics from product range to initial installation through to in-operation technical requirements.

With an average attendance of 50 senior technicians at each venue the Tech Treffen (Tech being self explanatory and Treffen meaning ‘meeting’ in German) had simultaneous Spanish/English translation and was universally agreed by the attendees to be an extremely useful event; being not just the providing of key information but also with ample time for the delegates to mix with industry

colleagues and to participate in a valuable question and answer session.

Tomas Mieles, sales director for Merkur Gaming Americas, wrapped up the Tour by stating: “Taking Tech Treffen on Tour and thus being able to capitalise on the experiences gained over the past three years in Peru has proved to be a fantastic success.

“Each country of course has its own technical requirements and our local experts addressed these in detail within the framework of an already proven overall agenda. In Mexico, we believe that this was the first such event ever presented in that country and its value was clearly seen,” says Mr. Mieles.

“Our Tour will certainly be on the road again in 2017 and, with Merkur Gaming being active in Argentina, we can already see that it will be extended to cover all four of the key countries in Latin American gaming operations. I would particularly like to thank all of our staff involved in the preparation and running of our Tour 2016 and also congratulate the delegates that made the three events come alive through their participation and lively interactions during the sessions,” concluded Mr. Mieles.
