San Jose, CA — Integrated Device Technology (IDT) has teamed with Cavium, Inc., on a refer- ence design that supports the burgeoning work- loads of the hyperscale data center. The IDT® DDR4 memory interface solutions are incorporat- ed into the reference design, which is built on Cavium’s ThunderX® family of workload-opti- mized, 64-bit, ARMv8-based processors. The Cavium ThunderX reference design can


be used to build energy-efficient server systems with IDT’s DDR4 technology. The design was developed for members of the Open Compute Project (OCP) and other hyperscale data center customers. The ThunderX product family is Cavium’s serv-


er processor for next-generation data center and cloud applications, and contains high-performance custom cores, single and dual-socket configurations, high memory bandwidth, and large memory capaci- ty. The product family also includes integrated hardware accelerators, integrated high-bandwidth network and storage I/O, fully-virtualized core and I/O, and scalable high-bandwidth, low-latency Ethernet fabric. tors are high-precision, quartz-crys- tal-controlled, square wave clock generators with either PECL or LVDS outputs and are available in frequencies from 100 to 175 MHz. Typical jitter performance measures less than 50 femtoseconds from 12 kHz to 20 MHz. The oscillators are housed in 5.0 x 7.0 or 3.2 x 5.0 mm (0.2 x 0.28 or 0.13 x 0.2 in.) LCC ceramic packages and are available in tape-and-reel or cut tape packag- ing.
