introduced its Malcom SWB-2 auto- matic wetting balance tester. The au- tomated tester has been designed to measure the wetting force of through-hole components using wave solder.
The SWB-2 is a wetting balance
tester for through-hole component leads. The system quickly evaluates the wettability of components, flux and solder. The system complies with
easily changed flux and solder, com- puter controlled auto-measurement analyzing test data, on-site testing in under an hour, and user-friendly
analysis software. Contact: Seika Machinery, Inc.,

KOA Speer Expands Molded Current Sense Resistor Line
Bradford, PA — KOA Speer Electron- ics has introduced its new SLN5 molded current sense resistor, which has a 7W power rating in 4527 size. The SLN5 offers a terminal port tem- perature of 70°C (158°F). The device is a molded resin re-
sistor designed for current detection and provides dimension accuracy, mountability, and shock resistance.
In addition, it offers excellent termi- nal strength, heat shock resistance, and solderability due to its metal plate terminal electrode. The SLN5 resistor has low TCR
down to ±75 ppm with resistance tol- erance as low as 0.5 percent, and re- sistance values of 5 to 200 mW. With an operating temperature of –65 to +180°C (–85 to +356°F), the SLN5 is an AEC-Q200-qualified surface- mount type resistor with a flame- proof UL94V0 molded case.
7W current sense resistors. Used primarily for current de-
tection, the SLN5 current sense re- sistors are suitable for transporta- tion, industrial, telecommunications, and consumer electronics markets in applications such as personal com- puting devices, DC-DC conversion, automotive modules, motor control,
and power supplies. Contact: KOA Speer Electronics,
